A rather chilled day of music for me today; A morning full of Marillion Beethoven Piano Concerto's No. 1 to 5 Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 Then some John Coltrane and Miles Davis (Kind of Blue) I'm now working my way through my Melody Gardot collection and this is on right now; Might end with some Norah Jones

Staggered by the sound quality present here, even over Spotify. What a great performance and production...

Mark Lanegan - 'Field Songs'
Yes. Oh yes indeed, the country is liberally peppered with people who have spent time in my proximity and driven crazy by the repetitive nature of the way I listen to this album! And so it has been since I bought my copy on the day it was released.

Go on then, if you insist . . . . You have however made me break my 'play rule' though, as I have just stopped Amy Speace after only 4 songs, so not a complete album . . .

For the Sandy Denny/vinyl fans, did you know there is a limited edition 180g pressing of this at Burning Shed? It's the Universal release I mentioned above. Did not get round to playing side 2 till today only to find a bad scratch. Too many faulty discs getting through these days. Two slices of 'bootleg' vinyl from LET THEM EAT VINYL today - flawless pressing quality on these 2 double albums. Patti Smith - Easter Rising (1978 live concert). Stevie Nicks - House of Blues (1994 Radio broadcast). Soundboard recordings of fairly good quality notably the later.

Jeff Beck - Emotion & Commotion
Even if you don't like the rest of the album, buy this for one of the best performance pairings ever: Jeff Beck and Joss Stone in I Put a Spell on You. Turn the volume up, it sounds superb.
