Night & Day : Joe Jackson. Vinyl LP gatefold sleeve. Recorded January–February 1982 at Blue Rock N.Y.C. Producer's Joe Jackson, David Kershunbaum. Engineering Michael Ewasko, Ken Tracht engineering assistance. Released 25th June 1982 on A&M. I was given this album as a birthday present a week or 2 after the date of release by a friend a recording engineer, there are a plethora of quality musicians & synthesizer programmers, there are bongos & other percussion instruments as well as Joe Jackson on acoustic piano & Fender Rhodes & various Yamaha electric pianos, hammond organ minimoog, alto sax & vibraphone as well as lead vocals, arranging & producing. I love the production & recording as did my friend, it is a tribute to the style of Cole Porter & a nod to the 1980's N.Y.C gay scene. to date it is his most commercially & critical success. All of those involved were at the top of their game, an album that does not appear to have suffered the ravages of time, a very highly recommended album.
