I'm stating again that everyone is a personal member and we will assume that everyone will behave with decorum, until proven otherwise. Steve is fine, I spoke with him very recently, he holds no malice' or ill feelings towards the current owner of AOS, and seems very happy with his life at present, yes, i hope he pops his head around the door here too.

I'm quite sure that the owners and moderators on this forum are quite capable of making such decisions. It is, in any case, entirely up to them how they run it.
Welcome Richard as just another ordinary member of this new forum.

In that case what business is it of yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to justify myself to you and what I post about. In this case it was mentioned it wasn't happening so I gave examples.

I think we should leave moderation to the moderators. A couple of members that run a business have made comments about products similar to those involved in said business. So far have stayed on the right side of a fine line. I'm sure if these members cross it action will be taken by the moderators so I don't think we should be doing their job for them. Anyhow thought this was an introduction thread and while I share Richard's concerns these issues are better raised elsewhere.

It is a fine line and I ask only that people chill and contribute to the real discussions.
Thanks.

This is just like the problems elsewhere, part of what forums are about is "heads up". This forum is making claims about its aims, I am giving heads up as to where I see *potential* problems emerging. It seems to be a disease that is spreading, so you bring it here "forget the tune just shoot the piano player".

Richard has a point, Prolific Trade will try and infiltrate and dominate any internet forum, i really hope this forum can resist becoming biased, and a platform for those to abuse.

Well even this quickly it is obviously much more balanced and lacking in owner agendas. So it has the potential off making the other place atrophy or maybe even disappear up itself. You just have to be clean in motive, but be clearly aware of others. Be it the old cynic in me but Leopards don't change their spots (even me) so the games will be played.

While you are here judging TAS, Richard, remember that it's a two-way process. We really do welcome everyone and would like for it to be a congenial and friendly place in which to discuss our passion for music. My personal hope is that I will learn lots and be able to help others while having some fun doing it. That requires 'pay it forward', in other words we all benefit from the contributions made.
I know that with your wealth of experience you have some nuggets of advice that we can all benefit from. So what say you to contributing some of it, and seeing how that works for you over a period of time?

Though it will make a change if I can give an opinion using that knowledge and experience without having an ignorant ego driven agenda thrust in my face, now that will make a nice change. It is the problem with most of the other forums, the big three especially. There is either a clique that develops that hold the agendas or they are the possession of the forum owner. In crowd or Mussolini, they both kill the pleasure of a forum in the end, it is another path that needs to be avoided.
