Have you got a fire guard for those? We need to look at heating systems in our new house - I'm just wondering if they might be a solution. When are they going to be ready to play with? I guess I need to come to you, unless you have upgraded your cars suspension

I guess I need to come to you, unless you have upgraded your cars suspension Hi mate, you heard my Iridium last time which is the same amp, just the baby brother. Hang on......did I just call a 5k amp a baby brother? Bloody Hell. As it stands I'm around a lot of next week but my days get booked up quickly, evenings I think I'm free (Mrs dependant ) Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Don't forget! My system runs off a MTBPS and I know how interested you are in the safety aspects of balanced power, so stand well back or you may never get the chance to retire in France. BTW I'm hoping to get the new amp up and running tomorrow, but it will just be on a bread board as I'm working on the case still.

Never mind balanced power - I've seen that dodgy consumer unit at your place. Balanced Power is not inherently dangerous. Its not a bomb in a case. Misunderstanding what it is, and how it changes the brown blue and yellow and green wires on devices plugged into it is dangerous, and denying that it does change them and failing to provide suitable safety warnings is dangerous. To repeat, there are broadly 2 dangers IF you want the protection of RCD's which current wiring regulations require for safety reasons, THEN you will need to fit them on the output of the BPS since devices on the input will be useless for protecting any faults on the output IF you want the protection of an "on" switch or a fuse, then you need to fit it on both the brown wire and the blue wire for any appliance you connect since they are both live. Most equipment just switches and fuses the brown wire. This is more a fire risk issue than a death by electrocution issue - but the vast majority of deaths caused by electrical faults are from fire, as is the main cost. In your case that garage of yours can probably burn down pretty safely - but don't count on an insurance payout if it does. I'll bring my Nomex suit

Now James, you recall my past life before electronics, I'll make something nice that goes big bang and then enjoy the sound of silence for a week after your ears recover. mmmm nice toys.
I will be around early Friday with bits and test kits, see you soon coffee day Friday yipeeeeee (I am now only allowed 1 a week, as I become more hyper, life getting slow and boring without coffee)
Alan has is KIT KISS up and running can't wait to hear it and Pauls. Stephan' PCB left today.

Well done James. I guess they are a bit big to bring here and wouldn't fit on my shelf, so the party is going to have to be at your place. Pity - the 63's are sounding good after I tightened the dust covers with a heat gun. How do they sound?
