Yes I'm aware that I'm not drinking an award-winning Aeropress 'recipe' just yet but for the moment ground coffee just fine for my needs.
If I was going to invest in a grinder I would want to buy a relatively decent one and at the moment I have other priorities for my dosh ... and there's always vinyl to be bought!

Interesting site, Jules. I'm tempted by the Aeropress selection as they're the types of coffee I like. My coffee selection from York Emporium arrived today. I have started with the Peru Tunki which tastes very fresh indeed; really sophisticated dark chocolate flavours and without a hint of bitterness. I've had excellent service from these guys and highly recommend them!

Well I really am loving this Aeropress lark!
Having 2-3 coffees each day and always looking forward to each one. Quite a pleasure I can say. Really looking forward to trying the rest of my coffee selection.

Yes, I've greatly enjoyed having my Aeropress at work and look forward to the ritual of making a coffee. There are two of us with them and we compare notes on coffee that we buy.

Bought this today. Nearly a 0.5kg vacuum packed brick of strong Swedish coffee. I've learned to avoid the stomach eating stronger roasts.. Serious number of Swedes who have to reduce / give up coffee in their 40's due to its corrosive nature! I chose Columbian medium roast. Will be interesting making coffee with it on my machine when I get home. I used some of my nice Columbian decaf over here where the only facility is a filter.. What a disappointment! Filter method is not for me. Saving it for when we get back home again. We did have a very nice barista coffee in town today Here's the brick I bought.

Talking of aeropresses, I have worn one of mine out! The rubber bung (or piston head, as I like to call it) recently started failing to make a proper seal. Ordered a new one and Bob's yer aunty's live in lover, it's good as new.
I was a bit shocked at the amount of coffee gunk that had accumulated inside the old one though....eeeuch!
I shall be whipping it off and washing it out every now and then henceforth.

Sounds good Clive. I've moved onto this Guatamala Bojangles which has a strong 'milk chocolate' element to it. It's an amazing after dinner coffee I have found, I really started craving one! A bit like that satisfaction you get with a Hot Chocolate ...

I can report back that the Swedish coffee when put though a barista machine is delicious! My one time barista youngest daughter made me a cup and got lots of lighter brown foam and a nice pattern. I've always found it dull as dishwater in Sweden / will never drink black or white filter coffee again

I've moved onto a Honduras Monte Cristo - tastes very similar to the Guatemala actually ...

I didn't rate the Honduran actually - not much subtlety at all ... Preferring a Sumatran I have started this morning.
Going to order some more coffee soon and will try some different online suppliers - anyone have any particular recommendations?

I recently found that my Aeropress plunger wasn't working at all smoothly recently. If anyone doesn't know already (they do mention it in the instructions) after use you really need to keep the plunger stored fully pressed down in the chamber, so that the bung doesn't distort in any way. Since I started doing that again I have been enjoying super smooth plunging ...

I've always stored mine like that, only to keep it tidy!
Now back on the Café Direct Machu Picchu Peru which is lovely.

Yes, I like the fact you can store the stirrer in the chamber - very neat!
