OK here's what I am hearing. Music on: No water.....sounds vaguely Ok but dusk ain't my favourite listening time for some reason. Never sits right with me. Fill a dish with water and sit it down. Not sure if any difference. Not really in a good mood to listen. Empty dish and come back in. Now I really feel out of sorts and system is just not doing anything for me. I'm sure it's worse. More to the point, I feel worse. Back to kitchen. 2 litre jug of cold water back in the room. For some inexplicable reason I feel more at ease and the system is reaching me better. Am I more receptive, is my mind playing tricks or is the some other effect? No idea. Just telling it as it happened. I will experiment more though. At least it's got me listening at a time that is usually the worst of the day in terms of mood and motivation for me. The 'thing' here is; if you 'think' it's better, then it 'is' better! Don't fight your brain, you will not win...........

Inhad a really enjoyable session whatever the reason so I will be getting the big jug out again when I listen tomorrow,. If I have another good session, I may try a pair of big jugs. JMH and PWB were always against even numbers, but 3 big jugs just doesn't seem right somehow I have always been a fan of big jugs.........!!!

So, for the third time, why not tell us what you heard that made you 'think' it was better?

Who could possibly argue with the following statements: "The edges of C.D., Video and vinyl discs are a prominence which have assumed an extremely strong Violet energy pattern. I always pen my CD edges with permanent green marker and they sound better as a result!!!!

Guest - you still here? What differences DID you hear? Better separation of the musical elements and a more fluid(sic) soundstage.

Placing pound coins under stand type speakers is another one that works. The two at the back and the single one underneath the drivers.

Had I best not mention the small piece of foil on the TV screen at this point?

Merely mentioning the existence of these things is rather worthless, I feel.

I always pen my CD edges with permanent green marker and they sound better as a result!!!!Don't get me wrong - I too use a similar process. But there is nothing voodoo to do with it. The light from the laser is focused to a tiny spot on the rear surface of the CD (almost in the plane of the label). Since there is no refractive index matching, light is partially reflected at the polycarbonate/air boundary, and, particularly on the outer tracks (the later ones, since a CD tracks from the inside out - ie opposite to vinyl) there is a more than decent chance for that light to get back up through the optics and add a noise-like component to the received data. Thus it adds either an increase in bit-error rate, or adds jitter - or both. All the green or black pens do is act to absorb any such rogue scattered light and stop it getting back up the optics. But violet energy patterns? What pseudo-science clap trap.

There was me thinking a foil was a kind of sword. Slightly surprised, as I thought trolls could be killed with swords!

I have a 180L fish tank in the far corner of my listening room... Can't say I have noticed any improvement in sound quality! That said it may be to far away from my equipment to make a difference. Will move it closer and report back with my findings
