I always love the free tweeks and remember Jimmy Hughes advocating a bucket of water in the room near the audio equipment. I remember laughing when I read it and then I tried it.................

Jimmy hughes did of course entuisatically and without qualification endorse Peter Belt
Are you advocating this as an idea to improve the sound of my hifi . Does the bucket need to have alcohol in it ?
Any ideas on how to stop my 14 month old pain up the arse boy from pouring the bucket on my PT . Yesterday I found my tracking force scales , carbon brush and the intelligent counterweight of my roksan arm in the kitchen bin .

Ah, the Belt era, remember it well.
An aspirin on each speaker ?
What a load of ballcocks.
And yes, being of open mind I did try some of his suggestions, but never noticed anything different.
PS what's a booket.
Ever thought of using a speelonge checker Daniel ?

I can try a dish of water. I don't own a bucket I'm afraid. I don't remember that particular JMH tweak but something appeals to me about tweaks that have a non-electrical or mechanical basis. I will report back.

Water vapour could increase humidity and lessen static, so would that make a difference ?

Water vapour could increase humidity and lessen static, so would that make a difference ? That would require a hot cauldron rather than a bucket!

Water does not need to be hot to evaporate.

OK here's what I am hearing.
Music on: No water.....sounds vaguely Ok but dusk ain't my favourite listening time for some reason. Never sits right with me.
Fill a dish with water and sit it down. Not sure if any difference. Not really in a good mood to listen.
Empty dish and come back in. Now I really feel out of sorts and system is just not doing anything for me. I'm sure it's worse. More to the point, I feel worse.
Back to kitchen. 2 litre jug of cold water back in the room. For some inexplicable reason I feel more at ease and the system is reaching me better. Am I more receptive, is my mind playing tricks or is the some other effect? No idea. Just telling it as it happened. I will experiment more though. At least it's got me listening at a time that is usually the worst of the day in terms of mood and motivation for me.

Eye of newt, testicle of toad etc. (rofl) Water does not need to be hot to evaporate.Indeed, but it's always great to crack the odd newt gag!

Yesterday I found my tracking force scales , carbon brush and the intelligent counterweight of my roksan arm in the kitchen bin . 1) Use a really, really, really, (REALLY) big bucket - and just to make sure - cut the handle off. 2) Maybe he's trying to tell you something. Don't remember the bucket of water, but remember he advocated using a de-humidifier. The rationale being that air with water vapour is more dense and sound travels quicker through a more dense medium. I used the iron.

Taking a tip from previous experience, the system usually sounds best when I'm reeeeeeeally relaxed, so perhaps adding some appropriate 'treatments' to the water might help this tweak work even better. Best not to make the bucket too big though.........

Inhad a really enjoyable session whatever the reason so I will be getting the big jug out again when I listen tomorrow,. If I have another good session, I may try a pair of big jugs. JMH and PWB were always against even numbers, but 3 big jugs just doesn't seem right somehow

I think it's OK to use two if you put a fold in one of the corners of one of them - that makes two into an odd number. Do you know anyone with foldable jugs?

I thought I'd give it a go myself. However, I've taken the purist flat earth approach - 'keep it simple stupid'. So I went for a bottomless bucket without any sides. After a quick listen, I thought I could hear a little galvanised colouration so I removed the handle. System piccie....

Who could possibly argue with the following statements:
"The edges of C.D., Video and vinyl discs are a prominence which have assumed an extremely strong Violet energy pattern. Inducing onto the edge of these discs a 'friendly' morphic resonance pattern is highly beneficial" "The interaction of all spinning discs with the gravitational force produces energy patterns that adversely affect the human being's ability to correctly perceive sound" "We have now evolved a Silver Mirror Foil entry point which, when attached to any object and Creamed with the new Black Cream, preserves the correct angular relationship of white sunlight and artificial light and the object"
And much more profundity where those came from
