Anyone got one? Now and again I think of getting one, but then I ask myself would I really use it?
They do look neat though.

I've got around 9
All great. Most not working Must get one or two back into the system
In terms of music repro an LP or CD will give better quality unless you have access to masters
I wonder how a reel to reel recording compares to a CD recording, off the radio say

I have a few recordings made from digital TV programmes (Freeview box into DAC) and they sound astonishing given where they came from!

If I ever get time I could try it

Not compared CD to tape
I liked the sound of a valve G Revox compared to a solid state B

Not as yet, though I did find a contact for a Tandberg specialist somewhere near York. Apparently this guy bought up all the UK spares from Tandberg when they left.
Sounds great as it is though, I think it has had very little use looking at the heads.

I got an Akai 4000 myself that I haven't used for ages. I'll probably part exchange it one day for a bottle of drink. I just don't have the space to put up every bit of kit that I got.

Are you expecting to have to add some cash to make up the value of the deck to the price of a bottle Stan?! Surely not.....unless your favourite tipple is something rather rarefied?

Are you expecting to have to add some cash to make up the value of the deck to the price of a bottle Stan?! Surely not.....unless your favourite tipple is something rather rarefied? As long as I don't have to post it. I hate packing large items and finding out that Parcelforce wants £25 or more. My favourite drink is rum of good quality. Appleton special reserve is just about the cheapest stuff that I drink. I am not looking for any extra top up payment. As long as it is a forum member and it is going to someone who really wants to give R2R a go without having to burn their fingers on an expensive R2R at this stage of their curiosity then that is OK with me. I'll dig it out and take some pics for clarity.
