Blast and Damnation.
Yuja Wang has had to cancel her European tour as several venues have pulled the plug.
I was *SO* looking forward to it.

Oh no, bad news. It's not surprising, though.

Festival Hall only has a handful of tickets left for tonight's performance, will be interesting to see how full it ends up ...

I booked for Khatia B but am having second thoughts about booking for any more concerts with no social distancing. The way things are going it makes me feel uneasy.

The Shostakovich 11 with Noseda conducting is about the only one of interest to me, although I'd love to hear the Brahms German Requiem one day.

I can't believe I am actually going to a **live concert** at the Barbican on Saturday night, it has been so long! And what a way to get back to concert going it is - La Buniatishvili in recital. Here is the programme, and it does look mouth watering. Erik Satie - Gymnopédie No 1 Frédéric Chopin - Prélude No 4, Op 28 Frédéric Chopin - Scherzo No 3 in C-sharp minor, Op 39 Johann Sebastian Bach - Aria from Suite No 3 in D major, BWV 1068 Franz Schubert - Impromptu No 3, Op 90 Franz Schubert/Franz Liszt - Ständchen Frédéric Chopin - Polonaise in A-flat major, Op 53 Frédéric Chopin - Mazurka No 4, Op 17 François Couperin - No 5 ‘Les Barricades Mystérieuses’ from Pièces de Clavecin (Book 2) Johann Sebastian Bach/Franz Liszt - Prelude and Fugue in A minor Franz Liszt - Consolation No 3, S 172 Franz Liszt/Vladimir Horowitz - Hungarian Rhapsody No 2

I'd love to hear her play the Satie and Bach.

We're going to see the Amati Orchestra in Sloane Square tonight. Not the greatest of programmes (except the Rimsky-Korsakov): TCHAIKOVSKY | Hamlet Fantasie-Overture DELIUS | In a Summer Garden RIMSKI-KORSAKOV | Capriccio Espagnol SIBELIUS | Symphony No 5 www.amatiorchestra.com/However, pseudo-stepson's partner plays in the orchestra and it's a nice night out for us.

Yuuuuujjjaaaaa...
You can watch on TV Martin! It's one of the few televised proms.
I've got a seat in the choir as I wanted to be close to the action - whether I'm on the side that allows me to see her hands is another matter ...

Well the sun is shining for Yuja!
And time for a donation to the RAH coffers - £9.90 for a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc... At least it's air-conditioned in here - absolute carnage outside...

I've got Mahler 7 at the Proms tomorrow night, with some trepidation. The Berlin Phil have been *profoundly* disappointing under Rattle when I have seen them but this time it's new boy Petrenko, so fingers crossed...

Yikes I have a vertigo inducing seat at the RAH - one metre to a sheer drop of many metres ... It's making me a tad nervous.
