Got a pair of tickets - right-hand side, but it doesn't matter as I shall listen to him rather than watch.

Have they changed the programme Martin?
I thought he was playing Rach 2 but now it says he is playing Beethoven 4, with the lovely Rach 2 Symphony after the break.

Not that I'm aware, I was expecting the Beethoven 4th. I think Ruth will like it. I don't really know the Rach 2nd symphony, will have to listen to it. I'm excited at the prospect of seeing Lupu again, never thought I would.

I must have misread it!
I will have to listen to 'hoven 4 before deciding on going.
Rach 2 is divine, Rach 3 is even more divine. I have Previn for all the Rach symphonies.

Having been introduced to cellist Truls Mork by Slinger (thanks Paul!), I’m going see him play the Walton at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on September 22 - the rest of the programme with the BBC Phil is mouth-watering too … Respighi Fountains of Rome | Walton Cello Concerto | Sibelius Symphony No. 2

The Respighi should be good.

Dang. Truls Mork won't be playing at Bridgewater Hall this weekend due to 'unforseen circumstances'! Shame, I was looking forward to hearing him. Instead we have a German cellist named Alban Gerhardt. Anyone familiar with him?

Really looking forward to seeing The Sixteen again next month at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Should sound amazing there with the fab acoustics. The programme is also fab -
Vivaldi Sinfonia from La Dorilla RV 709 (5’) Handel Dixit Dominus (30’) Handel Overture, Grand Chorus: The Lord Our Enemy Has Slain from Esther (16’) Vivaldi Gloria in D major RV 589 (25’)

This looks like an interesting evening of 're-imagined' Bach at the Royal Albert Hall ...

I was going to book for this stellar looking 2020 concert anyway, as it features the Beethoven Triple with the Divine Ms M and Khatia B … But having just discovered it has Mahler 1 after the interval I have sped up my purchase!

Thanks, Jules. I did enjoy her last time. Will look to see if it clashes with anything.
