Excellent lateral thinking going on there Martin T. I like it. Carefully noted in "next ploy to use" area of brain.
Xquki - you're probably spending too much time looking for a silver bloke.

I once took my 833a monoblock amps (on 2 TV trolleys) to a friends house to show his partner that the amps he wanted to build were more than reasonable.
I am available for hire at reasonable rates.

Yes, I've occasionally supplied the odd photo for friends to demonstrate to wives that things really aren't as bad as they seem.

Oh yes, the Greek audiophile community especially helps here (the Audiophile Club of Athens has some real nutters).
Show your partner this and suggest how relatively level headed your system is:

I call that type of thing 'dendro-bling'. It's a nice piece of veneer but used in entirely the wrong application, in my opinion.

I reported our friend topdeal-uk to Ebay this morning - the seller who is flooding the hifi section with tools and home improvement crap. I used the live chat system, so I have a copy of the transcript. Here's the pertinent bit:
I'd encourage anyone else who is pissed off by this seller to make their own complaint as it seems that one or two aren't enough to encourage them to enforce their rules rather than taking the listing fees.

I'm glad others are reporting him. I've done so five times and also written a formal letter of complaint that Enay have failed to act. I can only conclude their allowance of his infringements is deliberate.

Well, yes there are a lot of listing fees involved & I'm sure they'd hate to lose those!

Interesting. The arm mount assembly looks a little clumsy to my eye, but it does look nice. And no suspension!

It would have looked nice on the mantelpiece! No real way of knowing how well it performed, though.

Spotted a rather scarcely seen pair of Acoustic Research speakers on Ebay this morning. AR 10 pi - big stand mounters with 12" bass drivers. Kind of a late seventies AR3a. I'm not sure what flavour the pi is - almost certainly not raspberry though!
