Now then, Jules. You do remember what you said yesterday, don't you? About what you told your wife...

Yikes this isn't a bad price at all for a stunning Source Odyssey tonearm ... Jules Can i just post this link up, cos there is too many misconceptions regarding the 'Source' Turntable & the 'Odyssey arms. btw that arm in your link is a later one. odysseytonearms.blogspot.co.uk/p/people.html

Yes that's a very good site indeed. I've been in touch with the designer of Odyssey tonearms, John Gordon, for a good few years now ... He's a most helpful chap indeed. He has a really useful blog for the deck aswell - thesourceturntable.blogspot.co.uk/p/home.html

Could be good but not at that price.
I was tempted by a stable Platter Pioneer CDp being given away in Surbiton, but decided a bit too far and I have too many boxes already !

The problem with these old CD players is the drive mech and/or laser. Research whether there are supplies still available. For instance, some of the old Philips mechs are unobtainium.
If it's all good, that Revox could be worth making an offer.

This Ebay advert made me chuckle to myself. It's a pair of unremarkable budget priced Acoustic Research speakers with stoved in tweeters, so far, so boring. It's the photos that the seller has taken that prove to be so amusing. First of all, he's decided that his 'beloved' speakers will sell much better if he puts a sword in front of one of them. Scroll down a bit more and we see all sorts of cutlery festooned around his home hi-fi. A bayonet adorning the power amp for example. Not sure what the wooden mallet is all about either.
