Gosh, I've never heard of them but they sound interesting. I don't think I've ever seen electrostatics in a box enclosure.

They have an electrostatic dipole that was permanently charged and did not need external voltage. The speakers I had used a KEFF B200 and the HF units were offered as a stand alone too. The diaphragm iwas made of tissue paper that was been soaked in copper sulphate solution then dried and placed between the two electrode plates. They worked well in the day, but the paper is very hygroscopic and if not kept in perfect conditions, they will just crumble away. After Alex died, I was told that Volt got the rights to the units, but I have never seen any of these units from them.

Out of all the things I have bought on Ebay, I seem to have done best out of speakers. There do seem to be some very interesting models coming up really quite frequently.

I agree, speakers have always been good for me on eBay. I got my Tannoy 12" MGs in Lockwood cabs 12 years ago for £480 but before it was that popular in the U.K. Came out of a studio in Bristol that got them from the Beeb. I got the TDLs that preceded them and my desktop Tannoy Reveals off fleabay too. |
