There are still oads of great Turntable bargains to be had on EBay. Thorens, Aristons, Walkerdecks, Revolvers, Missions. All good decks that often go for very little.

Acoustic Research EB-101 is a massive bargain at the moment, they can be had for very little and can be made to sound exceptionally good.

I received a rather lame email message from EBay complaints regarding the category spamming of topdeal-uk. I thought I'd share it. I replied asking why several thousand listings had been left active despite multiple reports over several months, but as you will see, they claim not to monitor the inbox. It will therefore likely fall on deaf ears, just as the complaint did.
Hello Andrew,
Thank you for your letter to eBay regarding your report about a member listing items in the incorrect category.
Andrew I can understand why you're concerned that someone you feel is a bad eBayer is still active on eBay.
It's our top priority to ensure eBay remains a safe and reputable place and we take reports of members breaking our rules very seriously. Let me assure you we are investigating and will be taking appropriate action in this case. As you know, it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, so we can't share details of any action we've taken on this member's account.
Our disciplinary action ranges from formal warnings or temporary account restrictions to indefinite suspension of a member's account. In some cases, the member may continue to use eBay.
Before we take action, we consider the circumstances of an alleged offence and the member's feedback profile, as well as any previous warnings or offences. To be fair to all members, we won't take action unless a complaint can be fully investigated first and proven with certainty.
I hope this information helps to clarify this matter for you. We greatly appreciate your time and support in helping us keep eBay a safe and fun place to buy and sell.
Kind regards, Amy Donovan eBay Complaints

Yes, but that one has been modified. I'm not sure what all those screws are doing that are countersunk into the top of the plinth!

For £5k you could do a LOT better. You would need to add an amount for professional setup in any case, since the springs are notorious for sag.

Yes, but that one has been modified. I'm not sure what all those screws are doing that are countersunk into the top of the plinth! The plinths are actually very flimsy chipboard vinyl wrapped. im guessing he's re enforced it inside, however a better job could have been done imho.. Or even better a new plnth, they are dead easy to make..The original Hardboard base has to be lost for starters.

Interesting?… More… unusual… At first glance I thought it was a cake stand on top of a couple of large cruet sets. Honest.
I'm all for expressing one's individuality ( as long as it's not at the expense of another's POV, of course. Otherwise, others on hi-fi forums might feel the need to bock your postings.). But, howa man Mr C… You're pushing your luck with that - Sunshine:
