Earpad change ... It looks impossible when first considered. But after a bit of playing they went on really easy. The first earpad took about 10 minutes of fiddling and swearing, the second one took an easy one minute! No glue - they just slide on and stay put! Thanks Jerry

Fostex T50RP Mk3. They are the end point of my quite extensive headphone search. "Semi open back" - but the open apertures are small and they leak very little sound. They simply sound better than any other of the many fine headphones I have heard and owned. Open, fast, detailed, dynamic, tonally neutral. Bass goes deep and controlled. Put some Brainwavz earpads on them (£20) and they are astonishingly comfortable and don't heat up your ears as much as many others. Thanks Jerry do you know the part number of the brainwavz ear pads ?. Ignore that question I've found them. Are the earpad easy to change ,what type of glue do you use if any ?.

I use Superlux HD668B phones, which are semi closed back, and they sound excellent. I know they do some fully closed back models, too, which will be worth investigating. You can get them all on eBay, see the range here. Thanks Martin

I liked some of the Denon headphones when I heard them. The Denon AH-D600 is close to your budget but do try one first Thanks for your input John
