Right! Been listening through an album this morning. In truth, moving the amp plug from where it was on right side to left side resulted in a slightly muted, slightly subdued/less open and dynamic presentation to my ear. I tried to be subjective by pretending I wasn't hearing it or being influenced by what I was hearing towards making me appreciate something about it, ie: identify any benefit/improvement. After two sides, I swapped things back/around, so amp plug in right socket and tt-ps into left socket. Whilst subtle, there was definitely more energy, openness and enjoyable boogie/groove to the presentation. The slight subdued/'laidbackness' I detected with amp in left had gone. Maybe my earthing is on the right side socket - no idea. Either way, I'm leaving as was as sounds better and more enjoyable / musical to my ears. Why this is, well as my dear older friend often replies whenever I've asked him the reason for something we've been discussing and he doesn't have the answer - "F&ck3d if I know Robbie"....

I have an un-switched double socket.
I've read that the left hand, earthed socket is the best of the two to use.
I'm curious as to why that is ? also one side takes my 4 way power bar mains extension which holds my tt power supply and and cdp.
Which way round / side would you recommend for amp and then the extension block holding the tt-ps and cdp

Right, my faith in mankind has been restored. They sent me an offer and a message saying once I pay this invoice they will refund the shipping so real price will be as agreed..... Mission accomplished....

I spotted an album I fancy, on eBay so I put in my Watched items where it's sat for a few weeks. Yesterday I decided to contact the seller to see if they'd consider an offer, close to the Buy It Now asking price. Anyway, the seller replied to say 'Hi Rob, thanks for your interest. I can reduce 10% total price : 60USD + 13USD =73USD -10% is 65,7 USD or 48GBP.........' I replied to say thanks etc and if they sent me invoice I'd pay immediately. I waited and waited for hours, into the evening. Eventually when I checked the item I noticed it's price had now increased to 72USD I messaged to say I'd noticed that the price of the item had increased ?? Not had any response as yet and not holding my breath. Is it a mistake ? We'll see - very strange......

Lewis Hamilton in new year honours list.
Arise Sir Lewis Hamilton. Amazing! His journey from a kiddie to what he's achieved is, well amazing. Also, would have been easy to enjoy the money, lifestyle etc and not take the flack and abuse (I've seen lots of it online, some of it shocking) from the numptie haters who 1. would rather slag him off, even if he won the race with the car on his head and 2. Are either so totally ignorant or just choose not to recognise that what he is standing for is justice and equality right across the board, ie: breaking down the barriers that do exist and making a 'real' difference, making it maybe just that little bit easier for others to get through doors that have been historically almost impossible to open for the regular kid with dreams and for me that has to be commended. If this is commendation then I say great.

Had so much system down time, over the years, this is probably one of the first Christmas/New Years I've had my system properly up and running, what with one thing or the other that I'm just hoping to continue to enjoy the music and system as I currently am and without messing - no need, she's sounding great. As I say, I'm just so grateful to be were I'm at, enjoying the system and tunes. Also I have a Ortofon Cadenza Black, re-tipped with a Fritz Gyger S profile. Probably has one of the longest contact patch areas you can get and typical of microlines/sophisticated stylus profiles it demands meticulous set up and dialling in otherwise you just wont here it, (or your system) deliver the magic. I managed to dial it in and cant get enough, which I'll be taking into 2021 * I'm a vinyl front end addict but will look to sort the digital side with my first ever cd transport and DAC, once I sell my Pioneer PD-91 cdp - happy days !
