It's looking more and more like Verstappen will be world champion after the Mexican race today. Again, I didn't manage to see it but I think the Red Bulls are too fast to catch, albeit Mercedes still qualify well. Result 1 Max Verstappen Red Bull 1:38:39.086s 1 stop 2 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes +16.555s 1 stop 3 Sergio Perez Red Bull +17.752s 1 stop 4 Pierre Gasly AlphaTauri +63.845s 1 stop 5 Charles Leclerc Ferrari +81.037s 1 stop 6 Carlos Sainz Ferrari 1 LAP 1 stop 7 Sebastian Vettel Aston Martin 1 LAP 1 stop 8 Kimi Raikkonen Alfa Romeo Racing 1 LAP 1 stop 9 Fernando Alonso Alpine 1 LAP 1 stop 10 Lando Norris McLaren 1 LAP 1 stop 11 Antonio Giovinazzi Alfa Romeo Racing 1 LAP 1 stop 12 Daniel Ricciardo McLaren 1 LAP 2 stops 13 Esteban Ocon Alpine 1 LAP 1 stop 14 Lance Stroll Aston Martin 2 LAPS 2 stops 15 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 2 LAPS 4 stops 16 George Russell Williams 2 LAPS 1 stop 17 Nicholas Latifi Williams 2 LAPS 2 stops 18 Nikita Mazepin Haas 3 LAPS 2 stops R Mick Schumacher Haas R Yuki Tsunoda AlphaTauri Agree Martin, If you look it over so far this season, RB have been strong and faster from off the bat, the car working everywhere, the 2022 engine went into this car, coupled with upgrades along the way. Merc' on the other hand, pretty much like the rest of the field/paddock, have their eyes, current spend and resource firmly focused on the 2022 car. As a result RB have a car that is in reality a proper match for what has been the mighty Mercedes Benz of the hybrid era. I think the way RB have done it, in this last of the hybrid era as we've known it season, is the only way really, next years engine, plus upgrades, and Verstappen now has what he has been after. I'm not a fan of either Red Bull or Verstappen but I certainly cant take anything from them - 8 wins Verstappen to Lewis's 5, tells the story so far. Lewis and Mercedes will need a miracle, as I cant see Red Bull dropping or taking their eyes off the ball, at this stage, that said this is F1 and history has shown many times, that anything can happen

Now that is just damned bad luck. Vettel just cannot catch a break! True, what a shame for him, that'll be gutting. F1.... so many areas to cover off in regards to the rules

Well that was a race and a half What an absolute ballsup by bottas, i think his mercedes seat next year is gone after that absolute shocker Alonso has most definitely still got it, fabulous racing between him and hamilton, brilliant drive from hamilton after that utter cockup of a second start. vettel has still got it too, brilliant from him in dirty air for the whole race in a car not significantly faster than the alpine, and brilliant from ocon. kept his head, didnt bottle it and soaked up every single move from seb. 3 multiple world champions in the top 5, didnt think id see that this year Yeah, exciting race. LH was wasted at the end, you could see it. combination of one heck of a gruelling race and long covid by the looks of things, you could see and almost feel the fatigue, the hard breathing. Covid buggers your lungs so I hope he gets some good rest and rejuvenation over the summer break.

When my Pioneer PD-91 cd player died, my intention was to go the standalone transport and separate dac route but another PD-91 turned up locally at a price too good to resist, hence this new, unused, boxed unopened 6000 CDT is up for grabs. These have received amazing reviews, all over the net, from users, forums etc and I may well go this route one day. This one is in black. They are a penny short of £380 new, I'll take £300 - Note, this one is New, Boxed, Sealed, Unopened, never used. Has to be pick up from London area, PayPal family and friends payment. First to pm to purchase secures of course. NOW ON EBAY. 228 by

Defo Jules but dont get me wrong, I have my daughters room above where my system is so it's listening with consideration and pretty volume low. Fortunately my system room is a modest 4mtr by 3.5mtr so nice and easy to listen in and enjoy music when volume down, thankfully Ah, I had visions of you rocking the house Rob!

A lot of phono stages are specified for reviewers more than for real world customers, I often think. The makers bend over backwards to make them massively flexible and to make that flexibility easy for the reviewer to take advantage of. I think this is kind of superfluous for most people. Most people change their cartrudge very rarely and when they do, it's so often to something identical or very close to what they are replacing, so no real need for all that flexibility and ease of use. The number of people who want to change cartridges during a listening session or even overnight must, surely, be miniscule. Reviewers, on the other hand, love this flexibility and place a lot of emohasis on it because...well, because they are reviewers. They're testing things on behalf of the owners of a pile of different cartridges, and so the ability to do quick, painless changes makes their life easier. True Chris

It's why I'm still up to be honest, getting through a shed load of albums / tunes It must be great to be able to play music on your main system late in the evening - I don't think I have been able to do that since the 1980's!! Defo Jules but dont get me wrong, I have my daughters room above where my system is so it's listening with consideration and pretty volume low. Fortunately my system room is a modest 4mtr by 3.5mtr so nice and easy to listen in and enjoy music when volume down, thankfully

Yeah low output Cadenza Black mc, re-tipped with the Fritz Gyger S. Digs mad deep and retrieves literally all the info in the grooves, if it's there it'll dig it out/reveal it.
Set up and correct vta is imperative though otherwise forget it, there is no in between. Once nailed and in the sweet-spot it is superb.
It's why I'm still up to be honest, getting through a shed load of albums / tunes - With the SP-10 and Spendor D7's, vinyl replay is very very revealing. Fave albums I've known for decades and thought I knew, then blimey! never heard that in there before ...

Have you tried a really decent phono stage into the Sansui? MF are kind of interesting - made some classic early gear, then went off the boil so I think people are suspicious of the recent gear without having heard them. Must be worth a demo. That's a good question Jules. Whenever the thought has crossed my mind and I've looked at phonostages, it's a minefield. Tons of choice, options etc and then there's some with adjustment and more flexibility and so on - I've never had or used one.... Too much for my head, hence I'm an integrated, one box type of guy. I'd like to get my hands on the flagship, AU a907DR, the one above mine one day to be honest www.springair.de/en/sansui-au-alpha-907-dr/h61965Pretty much identical to what I have but 33kg, 160wpc @ 8ohms, against my 130wpc If I did I'd give it out and have the phonostage tweaked, improved, upgraded

Hi Jules, not necessarily, the Sansui is a lovely amp, love it's balance and depth, just excellent. If it were to be perfect (nothing is), its phonostage would be a tad quieter, and that's about it.
I've been curious about the MF M6si for a while, big power and solid build, said to have a very quiet phonostage as well - looks a lot of amp for the money, hence the thread, curiosity...

Watched the race from start to end. A mad crazy race, full of incident. A hard race and test for the drivers but the fans will have been happy with all the thrills, spills and unpredictability.
Unfortunate for Verstappen and even as a big LH fan, I think the way things ended up with neither championship contender gaining any advantage in points, since the last race, is the right result.
All re-set for the French Grand Prix, June 20, where the LH/MV, MB/RB battle will recommence.

I can imagine build will be as cheap as chips but not for me and budget is £200 approx. They're just after something simple and new to spin some tunes I'm told
