Me! Never satisfied. When I think it sounds good, I think Ooooh "could it sound even better"? muck about with it, then not happy and spend months getting back to where I started. Q. Why is it that good sound seems to take months to do and bad sound happens in seconds?!!!

Yes, I do indeed ride a bike, so this might come in handy. How many miles do you do a week/month?

Hi Rob, how're you going then? Welcome to TAS! I'm Doin' Fine Nooow....Without You Baaby (New York City) Yes, I'm good thanks. I realise that perhaps I should have properly introduced myself and my system in my first post.
I'm Rob, a P/T slave for RM (Mmm that lovely time of peace and goodwill is racing up on us when we finish delivering comfort and joy on xmas eve on our hands and knees )
Have been into all things audio since age 11. Although I had 2,000 45s and hundreds of LPs until I was about 20, I always thought that the SQ from vinyl was compromised (I realise that this comment means that I have just lost credibility with 80% or more of TAS members and they will never read anything I post ever again )
It could have been because I had crap turntables, crap amps with crap phono stages or a combination. Last year I sold a heavily modded Rega P3 and MF XLPs. This gave the best sound I had ever had, but it still did not do it for me enough to justify having to get out of my seat to change tracks/records. Could simply be the lard arse in me.
I still use CD as my main source. Have tried streaming, but it doesn't do it for me. I also use an MP3 player so that I can shuffle through tracks from the comfort of my armchair (Yes, I do eat a lot of pies whilst listening )
I use DIY bridged Monobollocks, DIY remote Optocoupler pre, Modded Marantz CD63, Dacmagic MkII (HiFi News 1990something major modifications jobbie) Dacmagic recent one (not DM+) Cambridge Discmagic with Trichord Clock 4 and DIY PS with JLH Ripple Eater. Klipsch KG3, Technics SB4500, Heybrook HB3 MkII (the subject of a major overhaul in the last few weeks - rescued from the rain and the imminent trip to the skip) MF X-Tone and MF PSU, DIY Pass B1 buffer.

I could go on but I have probably bored you senseless already.

I had assumed that I could click on the whole of the portion to upload and it wasn't responding. You have to be very precise. Done now.
