HiFiBerry Digi+ ProI've just installed the Digi+ Pro in place of my original Digi+. This generates a low jitter S/PDIF digital audio feed to the DAC of your choice. The benefits of the Pro are dual clocks so that any sampling rate can be accurately derived, and very low jitter. It took a little while to transfer the power feed as I supply +5V directly into the Digi+ Pro card and also solder a 5V supercap in place to minimise power supply noise. The Pi is then fed from the Digi+ Pro card, not via its own micro-USB. The only other change required was to alter the Playback setting in Volumio to HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro. Playing my now usual test track from Spotify, What You Want to Know by Rare Bird, the soundstage is immediately more palpable, the very quiet intro spell-binding and the delicate cymbal work has better shape. When the second vocal comes in, the dynamics are stunning. So, to mirror what ChrisB said, if you are running a Raspberry Pi into a non-USB DAC, you absolutely must have one of these! The cost is peanuts. Don't dismiss the power arrangements, though, as feeding 5V to the HiFiBerry board makes a difference, too. Nice Martin. What did you do with the 3.3 volt feed?

I bought felt pads from Thomann in Germany. They were to fit Beyerdynamic or AKG headphones I think. I can't remember which. I'm pretty sure it was the former.
The original vinyl pads can be quite sweaty and uncomfortable.

Hi Stan, I've had the original version for years. I use it to switch my main speakers between the surround sound system and the hifi. The new version looks very nice.

I've just updated from Moode 2.5 (I think ) to 3.1. I'm trying to upload the playlists from the old version using rp user and I keep getting a permission error. Is there a root user I should be using?

Huey Lewis did some production on The Way it Is. Lewis had a hit doing a cover of Jacob's Ladder from Hornsby's album Scenes from the Southside.
I think Hornsby is very underrated.

I don't know what the original problem was, but it now works and connects to the network. I had to rescan my library because that was all gone as well.
Now to do some listening. First impressions are that the soundstage is a little better.

I tried the same thing with mine (rpi 2b and digi+) and just feeding 5v to the digi+ it fires up but there's no power to the ethernet connection. If I reconnect to the rpi directly, everything works fine.
Any ideas?

Hi Martin,
Is the 5v feed to the Digi+ powering the Pi as well, or are you running a second feed to that?
