We are currently watching 'Bates Motel' and both the main characters, Norman Bates and Norma Bates are played very well indeed.

Was it definitely a young senator? It couldn't actually be this one, could it? That was s5e16 - Eppur si muove
Wow lol. Took me forever to find this one eh? Hehe. I'm still not actually of the title of the episode or season, but this is a nice chunk of the scene here... Found another clip with description says 4th episode The moment at 0:50 Wasn't that quiet early on, maybe season 2 or 3?

Not sure TBH, but I've recently acquired the entire series all seasons and will scour the episodes and report back.

Yes I have heard very good things about that, Mike. Going to give it a go after we have finished Bates Motel.

Not sure TBH, but I've recently acquired the entire series all seasons and will scour the episodes and report back. Only recently? we used to make it a thing to watch all 7 seasons from beginnning to end on a yearly basis... but then we had a child and suddenly watching 120 whatever episodes is somewhat challenging!

Just started watching an All4 French crime series set in the countryside - The Crimson Rivers. Very silly far fetched plot but highly entertaining I found.

I'm still hanging in there with Nightflyers but the story is wandering almost aimlessly.

I'm still hanging in there with Nightflyers but the story is wandering almost aimlessly. Episode 4 was a cross between Alien (the gue) and Doctor Who with a rogue spirit essence living in a computer world she created. She needed locking up and battling into a lockup zone.. We want to see how it all goes pearshaped as it started with the biologist (Fargo bully brother) doing The Shining, "here's Johnny" on the psychologist Grechen what's her name.. All set in space on the way to make that first alien contact.. Throw in lesbianism, a jumpy crew and a mind warper.. What's not to love

Hah! Some of it is very well done, but the story is quite disjointed.
For instance: the captain always appearing as an avatar of himself. Great idea, and then they spoil it with a mundane explanation and then he appears in person. Secondly: the probe returning is inspired. Plus what they find out about it (no spoilers). But again, the idea is wasted.

Has anyone been watching the new series Das Boot? It's pretty good although it doesn't quite have the feeling of claustrophobic dread that featured in Wolfgang Peterson's superb original film. Possibly because the later sub (captained by the original captain's son) is larger and not quite so tightly confined.
Nevertheless, very watchable.

It was good to have Endeavour back last night. I had half a thought that it was getting a bit stale, but happily, I was wrong. Proper, British, telly. Characters you can invest in (and in some cases take an instant dislike to) a decent plot, and a way of carrying you through to the end like a slow-moving stream with a deceptively strong current beneath its surface.

MOREOne I will not watch If you prefer a "gentler" pace, Mike, I really can recommend The Murdoch Mysteries. It's on Amazon, but sadly it's pay-only at the moment @ £9.99 per series, and I really would suggest watching from the start if you can.
