I have started watching Escape At Dannemora on Sky Atlantic. Three episodes in, and although it feels a bit like a remake of The Shawshank Redemption, it is very good. I tend to like anything with Benicio del Toro, and Patricia Arquette plays an astonishing character. Directed by a certain Ben Stiller. We watched the first two episodes and found it lacking, it just seemed really slow to take off.

Wifey and I have just finished watching the second series of Tin Star and it was equally as excellent as the first. Tim Roth plays the part of Jim/Jack in his usual matter of fact way, and although the character isn't the nicest, you find yourself wanting to support him.

I've yet to start S2 of Tin Star and that's good news.
Pine Gap was good, I still hope for a second series.

Yay! One of my favourite drama series' returns to the aptly named "Drama" channel tonight - The Murdoch Mysteries. Set in Toronto at the turn of the twentieth century there are no high-speed car chases (he does ride a pushbike though and cars have made an entrance to several storylines of late) no screen shattering explosions, just good, family-friendly, and very well written fun. A few "famous faces" like Conan Doyle and Nikola Tesla add to the fun up on occasion too. I've watched from the start and the characters have been developed quite nicely over the years. A definite recommendation, but I'd say try to watch from the start if you can, to get the full "benefit" from the overall story arc.

I tried E1 of Nightflyer last night, written by George RR Martin.
Unless it can follow the example of the brilliant Event Horizon, I fear that it's going to rapidly descend into a second rate space-monster series.

I've been looking for an episode for ages where Josh is grilling a young senator, that he is old college buddies with, in a room next to Leo's office. Was it definitely a young senator? It couldn't actually be this one, could it? That was s5e16 - Eppur si muove
Wow lol. Took me forever to find this one eh? Hehe. I'm still not actually of the title of the episode or season, but this is a nice chunk of the scene here... Found another clip with description says 4th episode The moment at 0:50

We're watching Nightflyers on Netflix. "From the original mind of George R. R. Martin.. (Perhaps I should add an extra middle initial to my name for more pondus . It certainly ticks all Marie's sci-fi boxes.. It's a bit deep - mind reading/bending Apex preditor, first alien contact, bit of gruesomeness. Perfect for light hearted sofa tv dinner watching Think serious, blood thirsty totally non-comedic, set on Red Dwarf. The genius biologist was the bully brother from Fargo II Well, both brothers were bullies weren't they.. - ah Fargo..

Hmmmm. I rather fancy Night Flyers, although I must say I prefer my sci-fi with at least a dash of humour these days. Not laugh-a-minute stuff, but at least something that raises the odd wry grin.

I've reached E3 and it's staying just the right side of Event Horizon greatness. Gretchen Mol being in it does help.
I rather like the bee lady.

Have adored Gretchen Mol, easy to look at, since her stint in the film The 13th Floor.
Another fairly decent Sci-fi mindbender From the 90's with a decent concept and great execution of yon concept.
