The nice thing about the Tinker Board S is that it doesn't need any messing around with config files. It sounds bloody good just as-is!

I think I'm going to try out one of these... powering the ATB. It's a decent enough price (£60.23 + free postage when their 11/11 sale starts, on Monday) and it's the only reasonably priced LPSU I've seen that is supposedly rated at 3A or above and makes an actual point of claiming it'll put out 5v 4A. I'm not too bothered about the variable voltage control, just the USB out. The innards look easily accessible, so I may even end up disconnecting the variable part of the circuitry to avoid "accidents." Supposedly the fan can be noisy, but there are ways around that if it proves so. If the LPSU works, and even if I have to fit a better fan, it would probably still end up being a bit of a bargain.

Worth getting in touch with the seller to check the current on this lpsu Paul - I had one powering my Topping D30, would be very surprised if it was lacking ... www.ebay.com/itm/273372400529

Thanks, Jules. Knowing some of these Chinese dealers though I think the answer to "What current can it put out at 5v?" is likely to be "What current does customer want it to be?"

Yeah maybe but he seemed a pretty good type to me, was very helpful with the questions I had.
I'm going to be powering my Tinker initially with my pi Powerbank which gives 5V / 3.1A max.

Ah, I didn't realise you were speaking from experience and had actually talked to the chap yourself. I'm currently using a power bank, and it works well, but I'd rather have a "permanent" supply if possible, rather than keep plugging and unplugging a power bank every day.

I'll be interested to see how the LPSU compares sound-wise to the Powerbank ...

I looked at the LKS and really wanted one to go with my DAC. It's a nice looking unit and likely to work as specced. I like the 'colour' selection for that item!
Paul - I don't think you can have any accidents as the USB out must be fixed to 5V by definition while the variable voltage would go to the DC terminals.

Perhaps it's just a brighter pink than 110v I was sort of kidding about the accidents, hence the winking smiley, but I might disconnect the variable output anyway if if can be done non-destructively.

My Tinker S is out for delivery today supposedly, fingers crossed ...
Stuff like this I've ordered from Germany seems to get delivered quicker than UK orders!

Now due for delivery on Monday.
Apparently the recipient asked for it to be delayed. Er, no he didn't!

I'm coming round to your choice of LPSU Paul. The variable voltage means you won't have to buy another one if you buy a source that needs a different voltage. I sold my LPSU with my previous Topping DAC.

Personally I'd go for a dedicated 5V unit like the LKS.
