Not for Jules, but I find it hard to imagine a more delicately poetic opening to the Brahms PC2

I watched this just a few days ago. The Brahms PC2 needs a great pianist to come off well and she absolutely nails it.

Wow, thanks to Jules and his Rach shoot-out, a new pianistic discovery for me - Denis Matsuev, here playing Shost PC 1&2. Superb!

It's good to hear an alternative to Maxim Shostakovich playing those. I find the finale to the 1st is telling and Matsuev does it really well.

Matsuev's partner is the astonishingly talented and charismatic dancer Ekaterina Shipulina, a principle at the Bolshoi, who I saw in Spartacus a couple of days ago.

An absolutely full-throttle Scheherazade, as only the Russians know how, from Gergiev & Mariinsky Orchestra

A very, very fine Rach 2 from Matsuev.

Cesar Franck's violin sonata transcribed for cello and piano. Wonderful playing by Leonard Rose.
