Now we just need to get Martin into a 3D Marvel film and we can all pack up and go home, with our boxes of fuses

Difficult to comprehend such a huge figure and the world wide audience into the future.
Someone has done figures

What am I missing, the obvious ?
I run Spotty from the laptop.
Easier to jump in and out from the Ipad, I thought. Volumio and Spotty are both on the ipad. The ipad sees what I set up on the laptop but always plays through the ipad speakers.
<later> Even more puzzling Now I can stop and start on the ipad so if I select on the laptop to start I'm ok to stream More fun when I start looking to do more

Are you switching the device to Volumio on the iPad? Otherwise, internal speakers are always the default.

Apple Support takes me so far. This will do for now. Stepson knows Apple well and is brighter than me. Here quite soon

It isn't a physical switch on the ipad that you are looking for. It is a little icon towards the bottom right hand side of the Spotify page.

Thanks Chris Took me a step further then dropped me off Need a brain operating the boxes here. Spotify is also offline on the ipad now
An Apple expert/carer will be along soon

It's not an Apple expert you need!
Spotify on iOS and Android is a little different. Using my Android phone, under the scrolling song title at the bottom is an icon and the wording 'Devices available'. Clicking on that lists my devices and I can then select Volumio.

What about someone cleverer than me ? Bizarre things happening makes me wonder if iPad and PC are clashing with each other. Clicking on "Volumio", screen changes, then again gives me Devices ! Thanks martin Main reason to Ipad is to have much quicker access to Spotty as the laptop can be while coming up, freezing sometimes and needed the big red switch

Unless you have a family account at Spotify you can only hear music on one machine at a time. Are you trying to use both? Don't include the Pi when you count up machines.

I thought, was told you can have 3
That would explain the confusion

The family account is well worth having: every member of our family gets to use it on their device for just £15 rather than £10 for a single account.

Our family is scattered around. Reading the T&Cs looks like we have to live at the same address which we don't. There are benefits to that though. Toddler, baby and alpha mother currently visiting and I'm hiding as much as I can

Taylor Swift likes Spotty "In 2023, Taylor Swift has towered above her musical peers on multiple fronts. And earlier this week, she racked up another major achievement when she was named Spotify‘s top-streamed artist of 2023. As part of its annual year-end Wrapped rundown on Wednesday (Nov. 29), Spotify announced that Swift had racked up 26.1 billion streams globally on the service since Jan. 1, topping the likes of three-time champ Bad Bunny as well as The Weeknd, Drake and Peso Pluma. This didn’t exactly come as a surprise considering the ongoing success of her late-2022 album, Midnights, as well as two chart-topping re-recordings: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version), the latter of which racked up a whopping 375.49 million on-demand official streams in its first week. ... more on link Taylor Swift Will Earn Over $100M From Spotify This Year
