That's not what happens to me Mike. If I bring up the artist, scroll down & click the first track of the album I want, it plays it straight through. Then it will move on to the next album if there is one below it.

Wondered if it was that. Have had albums play before but not always
Volumio needs Connect then to be at its best
<later> I may be able to make it work.... Last version was 16 minutes ago. Is this ok or is there a safe version ?

If you use the Spotify interface and volspotconnect plug-in, it works as a Spotify Connect device and will play the whole album.
In Volumio, you have to mark each track to play them all.

Sorry, I know I was supposed to pop over to help with it. Maybe one evening next week?

The other way of doing it via Volumio is to go into Spotify on the web, then drag the album you want into the list of playlists (over on the left hand side, near the bottom) . Volumio will then see it as an entire album and you can play it from start to finish on just one click from Volumio.

Has anyone tried Spotify (connect) from a Chromecast Audio via the Toslink output into a decent DAC?
On Android too as apparently it's better than when using an iOS device.

Sounds just fine to me. Toslink to an Arcam irDAC2. Oddly though i tend to use my other chromecast mk1 more often via the TV into HDMI and then out from the TV via Toslink to the DAC. All logic would dictate this should sound far worse but it doesn't, and u get album art etc on the TV screen.

Thanks Rich, might give it a go as the amp I'm buying has a 5V USB power output on the rear. Meant to power a Bluetooth accessory but it would do for a Chromecast too, with Toslink into the DAC and then control via Connect. Should be sufficient for my usage of Spotify. Simple and out the way

Took my Pi/DigiOne to MikeMusic for a spot of hi-bitrate Spotty. We thoroughly enjoyed the music and remarked several times at how good the sound quality was.
