Boy, you really don't like them. I only really feel that way about Rufus Wainwright and Joanna Newsom.

If I had a choice of Coldplay or Joanna Newsom it would be Joanna every time. That's how much I love Coldplay's records.
I was around at a friend's place, and he was showing me some of the LPs he'd been buying, and in amongst them was Divers by Joanna Newsome. He said it was a bit of an aquired taste, and boy was that the understatement of the century. I broke down with laughter at what I heard - I think I managed about 5 minutes before begging for the record to be taken off.

Rufus also does some interesting music.
Listening recently gave me similarities with his dad. Loudon has some very good albums

I cannot listen to him for 30 seconds. Whining, grating and supremely unpleasant voice and singing manner.

He's not a *huge* favourite, certainly not as much as his dad, but I'll be keeping the albums I have and maybe getting more

Before the CD and after cassette a company I think called Soundstream had a credit card size media storage circa 1970's but Philips and Sony were much bigger, the first player for CD I heard was a Hitachi, it was cold and bright and to be honest it put me of Digital Lies forever. The best I have heard was the Micro Mega I still have mine with a few mods. But even it is only used to soak test new designs, music digital style was no right, a good TT like the Dais was much better warm and life like. And MP3 well pure crap and the ruin of good music with correction to the sound to give us Boom and Tizz yuk for Mobile Phones etc, just pure garbage. No wonder with all the hype and marketing the new generations never hear what a good system could produce and thus the sales and design of good kit has fallen. Such a bloody shame.

Lovely packaging and nice pressing on double LP. I only got through the first disc and promptly put it on Ebay. Never had that reaction to any other record purchased. Her more recent appearance on Jools Holland was even worse.

The best sounding CDee player i had was the Micromega 'Stage 6' set. but as always the lazer broke down like my old 'Stage 2' & 'Minium' did

The best CD player I know is my own modified Ayre C-5xe MP. It isn't analogue-like, just very, very life-like.

I don't know that Player Martin being a newish thing. I don't use a CDee player anymore. The aim now is Transfering all music to Lossless including all my 12" singles. That alone is a major task as well as finding the best Quality Phono Stage/ADC without breaking the bank, Maybe a used Sonneteer 'Sedley'.. As i get older i seem to be able to spare less & less time hence i really need to switch to Files as a sound source.

I don't know that Player Martin being a newish thing It was introduced in 2005 so not that new. It was the first player that could handle CD, DVD-A and SACD all in native formats.
