Of course in 21st century britain , some opinions you are not legally entitled to . I realise Britain may be deemed in some quarters no longer worthy of the term Great however I didn't realise it had sunk to a level of no longer needing a capital letter. You really must have serious disdain for your own country.

If your critique { notice i do not lapse in to the lazy idea you are trolling, I welcome critique of all i say } , of my posts is going to be restricted to my spelling mistakes then you will bore the members to death and it will become a full time pastime .
I am amused that you can consider the level of disdain an individual holds for their country can be established by the use or otherwise of capitals .

And I am amused that you have managed to reach 870 posts whilst not contributing anything remotely useful to the forum or its members, still thats obviously not what you see as your role.

Yes, quite a lot of homework before investing in a digital front end with a price of nearer £100k, not that what I choose to spend on that or anything else should actually give you cause for concern.
My point was that following your recent somewhat snide attitude on several threads, I took a few minutes to go back through your threads to try to understand why you seemed so keen to post destructive comments. I went back quite a long way and failed to find anything that was useful or even particularly relevant. Perhaps you'd care to share your philosophy on this with us. Is it based on jealousy or inferiority? Are you unloved at home? I could go on but I've got rather more pleasant things to be doing.
Why not post something constructive and helpful for a change.
Now if you wouldn't mind, please stay away from my threads unless you want to have a sensible discussion.

If you're tilting at windmills, that tone arm sounds a good place to start. I'm not a turntable user so a bit of a shock to see that price. Did we establish what aspects of its construction causes the selling price to be so high? I'm not for one moment saying it is overpriced but I am wanting to know more of why it's so expensive. the £60k for the top Goldmund turntable and arm (plus cost of cartridge) which is bettered by a top digital source today was the point I abandoned vinyl.

How things move fast when you take your eye off. If this is not picked up by one of the "team" I'll start another thread - but I was unable to respond whilst in France using my Hudl2 and its default browser. The box opens for typing, but no keyboard appears. I was in the process of looking at tapatalk (but didnt have my password information whilst away - and don't really fancy it)
The arms price is for Arthur to decide but I think partly reflects caution not to underprice (it is much easier to lower a price than raise one and VERY easy to underestimate small run manufacturing costs on completely new technology), partly it is to get noticed at a show like Munich as something Extraordinary rather than ordinary, and partly due to the proposed tube construction which is from 3 materials, 2 of them previously unused and both seriously expensive to make.

I have made a statement about DQ's exit here so that everyone is clear on the matter.

Martin - I'm not sure if we speak at cross purposes. My need for "the team" was a forum access one. I'll put a post in the appropriate place

With reference to earlier comments about wishing Funk would design for the "starter market" I saw Arthur today and he has plans for a E600 integrated turntable with cartridge and phono stage - currently for a new distributor in Germany, but if it sells as well as he hopes it must surely make it to other markets.

Would that be at a price point below the LPT?

Blimey, that's hard to say for sure, but "yes". I guess Lsd is about pitched where lpt was, flamenca is cheaper than that and this is cheaper still. It's pitched as a" first record player ". Everything will be hardwired - there are no upgrade options apart from a better complete player. But it is a complete package to plug into a modern no-phono system

Looking forward to more details and especially some pics. Starter market decks can often be "re-starter" products too. Integral phono stage is a great idea. A crappy amplifier phono stage can ruin the sound of vinyl, so this should remove that risk. Also, not every amp has a phono stage and not everyone wants to spend extra dosh and give over extra room to another box.

Sounds promising, and it's what a lot of people going back into vinyl want. That's why the Pro-jects with built-in phono stages are popular.

I don't think details are confidential but I think it is still waiting on a firm initial order from this distributor before committing to final design and production. Essentially it is based on flamenca with production simplifications . He has redesigned the bearing to be much easier to assemble (even I could make one) and used a simpler cast block instead of the precision machined one. There should be a working prototype to snap a picture of next time I am down there
