I alos noticed Yes Debut LP has a had a re-issue on 2xLP im not bothered tho tbh. I doubt ill get better than my 1st issue Plumb Island jobbie.. Im Going start on the King Crimson 'Road To Red' CDee box set tonight. This arrived safe & sound unfortunately the 'Starless & Bible Black' box set got destroyed in the post. That Yes double has dodgy written all over it. Friday Music mastered by Joe Reagoso! US copy tape at best and likely digitised prior to cutting at Capitol. Just received the Analogue Productions 45 rpm Tea For The Tillerman - properly done vinyl mastering. I was refering to the Debut album. It's not the Friday issue it's the Music On Vinyl issue. Since the extra tracks are laid out the same as the Remastered/Expanded CD i also have, im assuming they are from the same digital files.. One of my pet hates is Re-Issue LP's with additional record in addition to the original album.. www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/yes/yes-expanded#.VVyEtvlViko

Just received the Analogue Productions 45 rpm Tea For The Tillerman - properly done vinyl mastering. Now then, I have a special 33rpm pressing of this but I can't remember if it's Back on Black, Speakers Corner or one of the other labels. Would you regard the 45 set as worth getting? The original recording is superb, with real swell on his voice when he's "giving it some". Martin. I haven't listened to it yet. AP did a 33 rpm version which is very good. Don't know about Back To Black. Uni did a decent version about 12 or 13 years ago and there was a Grapevine pressing in the mid 90's. Only the AP 33 is up to an Island first press so I'm expecting the 45 version to be the best yet.

I'll need to look. It has a thick sleeve and I bought it a couple of years ago from Diverse Vinyl.

Now played the new AP 45 rpm TFTT. It's a big step up from the 33 rpm they did. Ultra smooth presentation yet dynamic. The 33 rpm AP is a little bright compared to original pressings.
I also have the RSD pressing of Anthony Philip's The Geese And The Ghost as well as the new Paul Weller album to play.

I can't identify mine except that it's a 'special' pressing. It sounds very good, dynamic and detailed. I have no way of comparing the relative worth with the 45 set, but I'm tempted to go for it.

I think the £70 is not going towards packaging!

Im gutted tbh. When you listern & read the booklet notes it becomes apparent that these CD's are very important to any YES fan. They made such a good job with the tapes..
Maybe i should remember that CD's are worthless things that i just buy for extra's that are not available on Vinyl & not to get attached to everything about a package like i do with records..

Maybe you should keep it now that you have it?

The National - a lot of sorrow great song 6 hour version on a 9LP Box set could be just a bit much Reactions to the news that the National were to play their song "Sorrow", from 2010's High Violet, for six hours straight as part of MoMA PS1's Sunday Sessions were pretty evenly split between frenzied embrace and repulsion. For the former camp, video has now surfaced from the performance, where they ended up playing the song 105 times in front of a swirling dry ice display. www.alotofsorrow.com/

I thought those recordings appeared expensive, but didn't realise quite how expensive the originals are.
I took a look at the original Kogan Tchaikovsky lp - sells for up to 2.5K!!!
I've always looked for good quality re-issues or later pressings of similar lps as my pockets aren't deep enough for either of the above and have always been satisfied with sound quality fortunately.

It would be good if you introduced yourself in the Hello from New Members topic so that we know a little about you. Cheers!

Thanks for that. Limited catalogue at the moment, hopefully they'll expand to other labels.

I'm fortunate to have a fair number of the originals in excellent condition but I think that the prices are pitched about right and as they are limited editions will probably turn out to be good investments in theit own right in a similar vein to the D'Or series of records.
