15W OTL amp for sale, see details here- www.transcendentsound.com/son-of-beast.htmlThis is fitted with top quality CMC input/output sockets. Comes with a full complement of power valves as well as a set of Mullard CV4024 front end valves- I bought these for the amp at a cost of £100. Also included is a box of spare valves which include- 1. Six EL509 new and unused- these are £34 each from Hotrox. 2. Four Psvane 12AT7 TII which are £25 each. 2. Four JJ ECC81 which are £19 each. There are also resistors for setting the bias and two packs of glass fuses. This is a great sounding amp with the OTL strengths of great imaging and sound staging, and it is very fleet of foot. Only selling as I now have a set of Pinnacle monoblocks. I'm in the North East if you wish to collect, and can deliver within say 100 miles free, further afield for cost of fuel. £400.

It was the first time in years that I'd sold anything there.

Eduardo, thanks for sharing this painful story - I had no idea that witholding payments could happen like this. I believe that this is a Paypal policy, not ebay as such, and that basically they can hold onto your payment for 21 days in any circumstance where they think there is a risk of the transaction going pear shaped, like higher valued items, electronics etc etc Maybe ebay's new policy of not using paypal is a way round this? I was moaning about not getting my money for a couple of days, but I'm much happier avoiding the aggro you have had and have ebay pay straight into my bank account. What I don't know yet is whether ebay have adopted a similar policy to paypal when processing payments. I think it's worth a little further investigation. I checked on my PayPal account at the time, it stated "ebay hold" at the time. Wouldn't put it past them just saying that though..

It's absolutely shite. I'm sending the parcel without funds in account - it's an international delivery which will take ages anyway so don't want buyer to wait longer than necessary. Who knows how long payment processing will take at busy times. Never again will I sell anything on ebay. I hadn't for a long time, but recently sold my Mytek DAC there, and was incensed to find they had kept my money. I contacted them to complain and was told it is now standard practice when selling high value electronic items to withhold payment until the buyer indicates that they are happy with their purchase. Despite contacting the buyer (who was a genuine and decent bloke) I was still not paid, even after he had left positive feedback. It took three instances of me contacting them, during which they lied to me twice (I have the transcripts to prove this) before the funds were eventually released. How does any of this protect a seller from unscrupulous buyers? Makes it even worse IMO. Never again.

She only drives a couple of miles to work, and it's about a mile to the farm where her daughters' horse is stabled- that's almost all of the journeys it'll do.

Went car shopping the other day as my girlfriend needs a new car, she took a Lexus RX300 for a drive and fell in love with it, so we are picking it up on Saturday. Ticks all the boxes for her- needs to carry three kids, four dogs and be able to tow a caravan and a horse box. 3 litre V6 so plenty poke for towing. It's not particularly fast but is very quiet and refined. Nice growl when booted though, which I've missed since I had my Alfa. Bombproof Lexus build quality too which is always a plus. MPG isn't exactly stellar but it will be used almost exclusively for local journeys.

Make sure you get the right ones Ali You can tell if they have 2 small bass drivers. Also make sure they have the bracket for the stands. They match Vic bass drivers un what they do. Thanks John, will do.

Watched an American review of that the other day, they were moaning about a flat spot in the torque delivery- don't know if they get a different engine there.

That's interesting to know, Ali. Tyre composition changes all the time, but I remember F1s to always be good tyres. In the supersport category, both PS4S and F1S have great reputations, but I wouldn't like to use them in very wet conditions or in winter. It's interesting that the Bilsteins have given me more grip, especially when powering around corners. It seems that maintaining wheel contact with the road really is a benefit and I can feel them (and the Torsen LSD) doing the business, keeping grip even when the forces are high. I haven’t really tried the F1’s in very wet conditions yet- change of employer and a company car means the beemer barely turns a wheel now- three weeks since I’ve fired it up. Agree about winter though, I have a spare set of wheels with winter tyres which have been on for the last few months. Interesting what you say about the Bilsteins, I think you are right and funnily enough, heard the same thing said in a review of the GR Yaris- it keeping the tyres always on the road was given as one of the main factors in its handling abilities. Love to have a go in one!

I'm having Bilstein B8 dampers installed, together with new rear lower arms for proper alignment, anti-roll bar drop links, poly bushes to tighten up all the linkages. This should match the already good lowering springs and give me very pointy handling, especially as I've now gone back to the superb Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Today's the day - the Bilsteins came in at last after ordering them back in October. Apparently the German factory are running at half capacity due to COVID but still have high demand. Well, they do make the best dampers on the market. So I'm at Abbey Motorsport this morning with coffee to hand, Surface in use and letting them take the strain. Good day to take off work. I haven’t tried PS4’s, was a toss up between the 4S and F1 Supersports, which I plumped for as they were about 80 quid cheaper for the set at the time. Can recommend them, they transformed the beemer. On tyrereviews they are beating the 4S in the user reviews.
