mikeyb keep an eye out for a Logitech Transport as it works and is set up like the touch but just sounds better . Decent ones can be had for under £400 . I know, I sold you your one 😉 I have another that I use 😁

But bands never made money from tours even back in the 70s, in fact it was probably worse then.
Tours were only there to promote new albums, that then led to sales.
Tours then became a totally different beast in the last 15 to 20 years where they were seen as money spinners, how many times have you seen the big names tour lately? Certainly more often than album releases.
Streaming is the issue as that has killed physical album sales where traditionally bands made their money from.
If you can't make money from sales or from touring, you'll definitely NOT survive on streaming income.

The Marina's gearbox was a stirring stick beaten only by the even worse Talbot Alpine. You forgot about the Simca, that was even worse than the Alpine 😂 A mate of my brother had a Marina jacked up at the back (leaf springs) and paintwork done like the Starsky and Hutch car. Looked good but boy did you have to watch it on corners as the back end hopped to the side if going too fast, it was like the rear wheels were skipping sideways 😳

That's why we've ended up with 'selfie' cameras on our smartphones.
It's all about me, me, me these days.

I'm not sure yet what to make of The Gentlemen. It's more mad than first impressions suggested, and the two leads Theo James and Kaya Scodelario make a good pair of uneasy partners, with Daniel Ings causing mayhem. Bizarre onscreen graphics add to the off-kilter feel. Is anyone else watching it? We've finished it, I missed a good bit of the first episode and some of the 2nd so it took me a while to work out that was going on. It's ok, driven by masses of dialogue (why use 1 word when 10 will do!) Thought it so so, but ended well enough with no real surprises. If you've seen Lock Stock, Snatch etc then you've seen it all before.

Bloody Hell. A 67W fast charger might be the understatement of the year so far. Just picked up a 100w fast charger to go with my daughters new Honor Magic 6 Pro, boy does it charge fast, got to wonder what impact it has on the battery life mind you. Great phone too, fantastic camera on it which was the primary reason for going for the Honor, early bird offer on it to buy outright gave you £250 off, plus 1 years free screen damage insurance as well as an official cover with £20 discount and the Honor 100w fast charger for £14.99 instead of £49.99. Wasn't cheap but she got a loan from the bank of mum and dad 😁

Great to read that, I must buy another copy on record as I no longer have it in my collection having been stolen along with the rest of my records in the 80s.

Oh . . . and I've seen The Zone of Interest twice now . . . a truly remarkable film - it just stays with you and I can't stop thinking about it. A film unlike anything I've seen before, especially one tackling the subject of the holocaust - I think it's a masterpiece. Definitely benefits from a cinema experience though, especially the sound. Not sure it'll have the same impact in a front room. My film of the year so far. On our watch list

I tried Dune the other day, lasted about 30-40 minutes, just couldn't get into it.
No interest in Part 2 obviously.
Mind you I was never a Herbert or sci-fi books fan when I was younger, I preferred Fantasy stuff like L Sprague De Camp, Robert E Howard, Philip Jose Farmer, Mike Moorcock etc

I still mourn the loss of Friends Reunited, which for a while back there was the only way of reconciling with ex-school and college friends. LinkedIn works for ex-colleagues, but Facebook is a poor substitute for it. They were offered millions for the site but turned it down and a couple of years later it disappeared without trace.
