I have loaned my seg with the new firmware chip and dorado to my sons pal...he listens on senn 700s.
looking forward to his feedback.
myself and my son had another listen to his hi fi- real head scratcher how Stan has brought this level of sonic improvement for such reasonable money.
ive been into digital for a good few years...this has been by far and away the best bang for buck upgrade ive made.

Martin, I have 2 segs, Stan fettled one and supplied me with a firmware chip for the other.
I bought two Dorados one for my AV set and one for my sons system.
I was swapping between the two set ups last night.
I will get the chip swapped in the other seg today and get the other dorado up and running

I plumbed in the fettled seg with the new firmware and dorado yesterday.
Sat with my son last night for a few hours, we were both genuinely taken aback at just how much of an improvement they have brought.
Im using one of Stans power supplies with the dorado so no fancy linear supply BUT...Stan has enabled the dorado to be fed charge via this supply and still output 15v reaping all the sonic benefits.
I then plumbed seg/dorado into my av set up....boy oh boy-John Wick 2 the opening sequence with car crashes and fights!!!
Really rather special imho.
will endevour to get listening on cans to work out whats going on sonically.

Stan is modding my seg...the other is standard, also CAIMAN MK2 with the firmware updated.
will endeavour to listen to the three- cans/full rig....then post impressions with the dorado.
folk that have stan dacs might get an impression of what it achieves IMHO.

Garys with the 300bs are sublime...
heard Cols with 300b monos- best noise ive heard (that was when i travelled down to get my 57s from col)
love to try them on temple mono blocks...might just do that on the eddies

Im very interested on what Ali hears from these...my electric beach frugels sound terrific in my sons croft/seg set up.
incredibly open with a soundsatge/presentation thats what you could live with forever.
Colin built frugels for years...knows them inside out-sound wise!!!
He listened to my sons a hi fi when he delivered the eddies!
IMHO his speakers really like a bit of power up them..SS is the way to go-I will ready my coat!
just saying,,,,,,

Im posting one of my segs down to Stan today for the mods.
I will leave my other one standard at the moment.
I will get my head round the changes....cans and main rig and post a wee review.
likewise when i get my mitts on a dorado i will try it with the two segs and a caiman mk2.
should be interesting!!!

I have 57s,63s frugels and spendor SP1S.
the sr eddingdale pretty much takes the best qualities of all the others but adds what only physics can do
they have dynamic range certainly at the low end the others cant get near
they image as well as the 57s but with frequency extremes that bake your noodle
they handle every musical genre with aplomb...they seriously rock but at the same time handle female vocals with a mesmerising delicacy
i have swapped the others back in-i love all my speakers but the eddingdales just surpass them in every capacity
honestly IMHO an end game speaker
