Hahahaha , love it Mike . At least everything's symmetrical , so can't be that bad . I'm afraid I can't match your efforts however . I do have Focalpods , loads of oak cones , and 2 sets of RDC cones which I swap around when anything new arrives . I have in the past made my own feet and supports from some very strange materials , and some of them have worked ( IMO ) . I've never used slate so must give that a try . Do you have any links for suitable pieces of slate Mike ? Please tell me you didn't get supports for Christmas . Have a good one sir .

It's 'different' init ? I think the RDC cones are great VFM. Even better with the single bases and better still with the 2 part bases, shown, but not really clear Pods are better than cheap cones. RDCs, as you know take that up a step or two. Mine are granite. Not keen on nasties inside slate even though around half the price. Ebay or Amazon for the placemats and coasters Search on "granite placemats" for loads Truly bizarre they work so well

What do you think of the RDC Combi Bases, Mike? I'm in two minds about the sorbothane inside and prefer the Cone Cups alone.
Why don't you use a couple of coasters each side of the Isis (are we allowed to call it that any more)?

Combi bases sound better to me. Have to compare the RDC 4s, 2 part jobbies to the combis, hopefully in the next few days
The one set of RDC 4s under the P10 are doing a great job
Yet to try coasters in place of the placemats Would be better for looks and sense if they were as good
Bunged a load of coasters around the Chord to miss the air vents. A placemat is an improvement in sound, but by blocking that back air vent, which stays cool, but could be a bad move.
Perhaps I'll do some comparing early in the day then

Hah ! Think the Isis should be called the ' mothership ' from now on . I'll be experimenting with granite in the new year , so we'll see . Thanks for sharing the info chaps.

I just get a knowing/understanding smile from Ruth, meaning "I know you're beyond rescue, but enjoy it anyway".

I used to be part of the lunatic fringe, but I managed to get right into the middle. Problemette with the middle. It comes up See this 30 seconds in for very similar I will try a mat on top, but that comes with an even bigger safety warning ! Got to admit SWMBO is remarkably laid back about the hifi mods and happy to let me do almost anything. Don't like it too loud

When we get the proper music room finished, I'm going to put all the hi-fi on a nice wooden sideboard so I can see it proper. These rack thing hide stuff. I've started fitting nice wooden (cherry) end cheeks to all the boring black boxes.
It'll look really nice.
I bet you all ten bob it still sounds good too :-)

Gawann, take his money ! I forgot to mention that I will be making the sideboard. It will have loads of invisible means of vibration damping and isolation. Not sure it really needs it but it will be fun to try and develop. If I make it 25p, would that help?
