Tiddling around on laptop and listening to Jon Hopkins - Insides. Last time I listened was a week or two ago.
Bass has improved beyond where I thought it could go. Wonderfully clear and wide sound. Piano is wonderful.
Thought The Damned sounded rather good as I was stretching around earlier
What has changed since the last listen <looks and thinks>..... The only recent change was the SR Red fuse to SR Blue. It was there last time so this is bedding in. Can it really be that good ?

Thanks to Martin popping in yesterday and getting my Pi with new dream topping DigiOne. Set up and working with Caiman and 2 batteries supplying power. Would not want to do that fiddling on my own without manufacturer's instructions. YouTube has the case assembly. Where can we get the rest of this stuff ?
Very impressive sound step up for around £100
What is a good digital cable for the set up now? I need one !

Belden 1694A Brilliance cable. You can get it from Blue Jeans, Mark Grant and elsewhere. Beware eBay as there are fake copies.

Been thinking about the extras I have on my system. All tested and found to improve sound.
This is the CD path. Electric Beach weights on top of Isis CD on top of Black Ravioli on top of Electric Beach platform on top of RDC 4 2 part cones on top of Creaktiv rack sitting on Tony's special feet
Mains : Isis with Coherent 6D cable connected to Audio Magic filter box connected to Coherent BD mains cable with SR Blue fuse into Coherent unswitched socket
Tacima, Russ Andrews filters and silencers and PS Audio Harvesters
Available for anyone to cop an earful of lovely music.

Identifying the accessories that give you so much more is a large part of the win. That can take years to get right.

Adding them one at a time I didn't total until just now.
The Creaktiv rack was a big step up from the excellent Mana with Reference top and multiple Soundbases. Surprised it could be made even better and assumed each item would not, could not be noticeable.

One thing that took me a long while to figure out is with supports. Hard coupling like spikes don't work for me, and complete decoupling like the sprung feet I had on my system rack as originally supplied don't do it either.
Once I realised that lossy coupling of the type that Black Ravioli and RDC Cones provide work best for my system, it became easier to work out the ideal arrangement for them.

Not yet an established science so we have to try it ourselves.
Then there is the wobbly Townshend approach to speaker stands.
A Townshend rack is 'interesting' with the shelves hanging from ropes.
Max has good ideas and was decoupling many years ago

Nice surprise today playing Left field - Rhythm and Stealth. Been a few months since last played so not much has changed in kit or other. I had no idea the punch in the midrange and the depth in the bass was there to improve so much. The production and engineering was there after all. Great. One for MartinT_old to play again with all those improvements. I'm sure more will be revealed

Both their early albums and most of the remixes go down well here.
Next up here bit of a disappointment
Jeff Beck - Flash Almost the opposite of Leftfield. Music pretty good, although not his best. Production / engineering not so good from what I hear. Wikipedia Producer: Jeff Beck, Tony Hymas, Nile Rodgers, Arthur Baker. As you were, tracks 1 and 2 rather flat. Track 3 so much better. Again it is the midrange punch and the bass as well as the much better sound. System revealing different methods/studios/producers..... Track 4 as good with Rod on vocals

Isotek isoplug picked up on Ebay.
With all the Russ Andrews Purifiers, Tacima filters and PS Audio noise harvesters I didn't expect much and was a few days before trying it out.
Mavis Staples, my standby for comparisons. Always good to hear. Played, sounded fine. Plugged in the Isoplug and knew after a few bars there was more bass, more detail in the treble and space between instruments. Not a huge step up but more than just subtle. Very pleasant surprise.
Checking my ears were not deceiving me another play without. Ok but a little something now missing. Back on again. Yes, well worth having and fabulous VFM
System takes another step up

The more you have the better it gets. I must have 8 different plug-in filters now.

Not including the Audio Magic conditioner box I have 6 in the room with one Harvester looking for a socket - and a UK/US adaptor.
Surprised me each time to find an improvement
Would the same happen with the Ferrite chokes ? Is there a favourite, really dirty device ?

Anything with an SMPS, like laptop chargers, VCRs and probably your Tivo.
