A good friend of mine is involved in raising funds for a plaque to commemorate when Haydn lived in London. I know they would appreciate any support!
Here's a link to the project that describes the background to it all ... They have just 17 days left to raise the funds.

Great! I wonder why the urgent deadline?

I find it surprising to learn that there isn't one already.

I think it's good to have these cultural heritage reminders as you walk about cities.
Not sure about the deadline - I think it's possibly the way these Kickstarter projects work?
There have been numerous attempts to put up a plaque in the past but English Heritage won't put one up because none of the exact original buildings that he was associated with are left, so the funding has to be done independently, in this case by the Haydn Society of Great Britain. They want to put up the plaque on a building in Soho that they know for sure occupies a spot where he lived.

The plaque is commissioned. The power of crowd-funding works for classical music. I'm impressed!
