Does anyone know the colour number for Quad 33/303 casework?? The pre is a bit tatty and I want to PREtty it up a bit.

I think it's one of those fairly commonly asked questions that are rarely answered correctly, Gordon!
Received wisdom seems to be that there is no number and that people who want to do it right take it to a professional (and therefore expensive) company who can analyse the existing paint from a sample on the unit and then mix up something to suit. I can't believe that once they do it, the results should be a secret, though. I suppose you would also have to find a sample from an area where it hasn't worn or been damaged? Maybe by removing some of the fixtures and fitting, you might might a virgin patch?
Personally, I'd be inclined to wing it! Unless you have a second unit to see side by side, who's to know?

I agree of course. Our local car bits supermarket has spray cans for just about every car made and I don't doubt I could find a near match. Considering the number of Quads out there, I thought it might be common knowledge and I would prefer to get it right if not too difficult.
I could always spray it red or black or something interesting of course.

One of the companies that carry out mods used to sell little bottles of touch up paint but I bet they won't tell you the recipe!

Just find a paint supplier with a spectrometer, as Chris says get the identical colour mixed up in a can or two for you. The case is a darker colour to the facia as you know.

Volvo paint "468, Lavasand Pearl" is a very good colour match to the "Quad bronze" of the Series 3 and Series 4 electronics.
