Listening to Youtube I was reminded I was using our *capped* bandwith Even more to the point we often downloadi large amounts of files to burn CDs and DVDs
I usually listen only so no point in the overhead of the pics
Does Spotty take a lot less then YT ?
What about others like Grooveshark - which has moving pics on the screen and Allmusic with moving picture adverts ?

Spotify takes less bandwidth than YouTube as it's an audio-only stream. Probably the lowest bandwidth are the internet radio stations, like the wonderful Radio Paradise (you can select the bandwidth to use).

Thanks. Good news
What about Grooveshark ? It has a better hit rate for my obscure stuff than Spotty

No idea. It should give its bandwidth somewhere.

It varies with the particular file you're listening to I think. There is an option to go low bandwidth especially for folks with flaky connections.

I'll go looking. Grooveshark wouldn't play just now, Youtube ok with video ...
