Delighted to be here. I hope to see some old friends and to make some new ones too.
My taste in music is essentially an esoteric mix of classical - Rachmaninov, Sibelius, Scriabin etc - and 70's rock - Rush, Sabbath, Zeppelin etc. My listening is almost exclusively vinyl based.
I love going to classical concerts, and get to venues like the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican whenever I can...
I'm only looking to make small tweaks to my system at the moment. Just tube-rolling with my phono stage and when funds allow I would like to try another cart.
That's all for now!

Hey-hey, look who's here! Welcome Jules. As we've been saying to others, don't touch anything blue - the paint is still drying! It's really nice to see you here.

Hey, you'll do About 99% more knowledge than me It's a deal then ... I had quite a 'classical' upbringing. Attended choir school and was a full-time chorister at the age of around 7, in one of the best choirs in the country. Learnt to play violin, viola and trumpet at that time. Switched from trumpet to French Horn at secondary school. Promptly gave up all my instruments and musical learning on leaving school and didn't return to classical music for many, many years. Somehow my interest in the music was re-kindled in 'middle age'. Strangely enough, I actually think it was my son being born that did it. Started having Classic FM on in the background as the music can be soothing for babies, unlike, er Black Sabbath etc ... Just began to get into it again. Now one of my great joys now is listening to the kind of choral music I used to sing, especially early music like Tallis, Byrd and Palestrina. I sometimes wonder whether I could ever get back to singing again, but so far not had the nerve to find out.

Even my stepson has phrases I want to know more about and he did O level Music. I sang at school and was press ganged into a quite rough church choir
