Any Motorbike fans here ? There sure are. I have a Triumph Sprint 955i road bike, a KTM 450exc road/off road enduro bike, and two classic scramblers. One is a pre 65 Triumph Metisse 650 unit construction and the other is a pre 60 Tri-BSA with a pre unit Triumph 650 engine, BSA gearbox, Norton forks and an Ariel swinging arm. I call it a BRITSA. Both scramblers. Here is me in action on the Tri-BSA last year at Maylandsea.

I have a Yamaha XJR1300 and used to have a Triumph T595 Daytona too but had to sell it when I moved back to Oz.
At some time in the future I'd like to restore a couple of old trail bikes to go bush bashing on weekends.

I was top rider most of the time. Also did a spell at Express.
Remember Damon Hill was at West One before he was famous.

I used to get into trouble telling the truth. When youre a top rider when the sh1t hits the fan they load you up with loads of collections from the city and loads of drops in west end. One man I collected from said "please promise me you will go styraight there" "Sorry I can't say that, in all honesty it will be quicker if you stand outside and hail a black cab."
The office pulled me in a few times "It's what the customers want to hear". Me "I won't lie for you!" They kept me on because I was good, but they lived a total culture of lying, because they had this stupid idea it was best.
I was fortunate my father taught me from an early age that whatever the short term situation in the long term it always pays to tell the truth.
As a gas man I have often turned up to a house and they have said "the office said you would be here 2 hrs ago." My retort tends to be very direct. "They lied!". Customers not used to that, and neither is the office. But they will have to learn, don't lie for me, I'll never lie for you. If I am late there is a credible reason and I am happy to stand up and be counted. False promises do far more harm to a business than the truth. A customer that relies on you to protect their life? HOw can they have confidence in a lier to protect them?
that said, the folk I work for right now don't lie. At least I haven't caught them out. Mind you they know me now!
If you get dropped for telling the truth you didn't belong in that place anyway.

Respect Noddy - Bloody class Bikes. My 1982 BMW R80/7 Airhead. Hi Jammy, Did you buy or build it? Looks lovely. I want to do the same thing to a Honda CX500 (transverse V Twin). I love the cafe racer look!

The reason I want to build two. My son's twelve and I thought it would be something we could do together occasionally.

Learned that lesson!

I agree, the cafe racer looks are nice.
BUT, I fear it's very uncomfortable (for me at least) to ride.
On my 955i Triumph Sprint, I've recently put some high bars on to make it more comfortable to ride. It meant ditching the standard fairing, and making a custom riser block, but the results for me were worthwhile.
It limits my cruising speed of course, but up to the legal limit is fine, so no problems. I'm not a speed freak anymore.

2 things I think off when I hear "Kawasaki"
1. The Kawasaki sketch from Absolutely This is the closest I can get, might be in their somewhere in the episodes
(If you are Scots and don't know this you need to)
2. The advert for selling a Kawasaki with the spiel something like "When I asked my wife if I could buy a Kawasaki she said do what the f*** you want So I bought one..... Now I'm selling it
