Hi there Tom and welcome to The Audio Standard. So nice that you've found us. You may already have seen by now that there's quite a bit here to interest the lovers of classical music. Cheers Chris

Where did that Radford STA100 come from?! Hi Martin The STA100 is with Valvebloke at the minute ... the re-born Canterburys sound better with HPDs than Golds, but the 300b PP interstage WAD that I had wasn't quite up to the job of driving them (Hpds need a lot more welly than Golds). I bought a Lyngdorf SDA2175 as an interim step and it was quite an improvement, though that blew a channel, I suspect in a thunderstorm (Shuggy has it now). The Radford is the most powerful amp old Arthur designed 70w of KT88 PP, but it arrived it unexpectedly needed a new output transformer so a new pair have been wound courtesy of Will at Radford Revival and it's currently being fettled, ETA sometime next week. I really hope it will do the job. I've just picked up an Aurorasound Vida phono stage (you may remember we exchanged thoughts on that a while back as I had one in for trial) so my Longdog MM will be for sale, well chuffed with the purchase which was only last night! The Longdog is the oldest survivor in my system (over 4 years) and I never anticipated selling it so it will be a wrench. But the Vida is something rather special as you know.

He means "both boxes" and I agree, both VIDA and its PSU respond nicely to RDC Cones (1 for the VIDA, 2 or 5 for the PSU).
