Hello, my name is Lukasz. I would describe myself as an amateur audiophile (taking into account that the definition of an audiophile is a person who is especially interested in high-fidelity sound reproduction). I like to sit down comfortably in my chair in the evening and listen to music. I decided to register on this website to be able to share my experiences in audio field and also to get access to advice from more experienced users.
At the moment my audio system consists of: Amplifier: Dayens Ampino Source: Dell Vostro 3550 USB -> SPDiF converter: Nuforce u192s DAC: Behringer deq2496 Speakers: DIY Monitor Speakers Cables: Belkin Pure AV Silver Series
I don't have strictly one favourite genre of music. I am really glad that I could join this forum.
Best regards

Hi Lukasz, Welcome to TAS from me too. It's great that you found us and decided to join. I've never heard of that amp - just looked at the 6Moons review of it - interesting. Cheers

I can see that my audio system generated some interest here therefore I would like to write couple of sentences about it. When completing the system my main aim was to get a system which is "musical" where the sound would be quite detailed, but not tiring. I have to add that at the same time my budget was rather limited. Dayens Ampino is not very popular, I guess it is because its availability is limited. Dayens is small Serbian audio maker who does not have strong distribution system and you can rarely come across them in audio magazines. The amplifier is very musical, it is rather warm, but producing good details. The amplifier's case is very small which was extremely important to me. Behringer is the most versatile DAC I tested in my system. It plays well every type of music I throw at it, at least to my ear. I am aware that having a sound correction element in the system is against "undistorted signal" theories, but now I am able to change the sound to my liking without constantly changing the system components. You can also connect a microphone to Behringer which helps to get more details about your room's acoustics (with possibility of auto-correction, but this feature does not always produce good results). I am very happy with it. Nuforce u192s: Due to limited budget I could only compare it with cheaper external sound cards and I can say this is the best solution for me at present. Speakers: Very interesting project, I doubt anyone can find identical pair of speakers Focal audiom 5ws utopia line were used to build the speakers, which are (in theory) dedicated for car audio segment. You can also find Morel cat298 tweeters there. They look like small bookshelf speakers, but sound like floorstanding speakers. Belkin cables, which are incredibly cheap (in audio world), perform very well. After number of trials and tests of various component I think that I have eventually found the sound I was looking for (without spending small fortune on my audio system).

Excellent out-of-the-box thinking there, Lukasz. I didn't know Focal made a Utopia range of car speakers.
