I would have thought Spotify should show the 44.1 light as that is what my DAC shows when playing Spotty. Nicely done. Now you need to learn the ancient skill of Letraset for your front panel! Yeah. Need to investigate where the 44.1 light has gone.. Can't be bothered with lettering.

It's clearly an 'artisan' design. Much more desirable!

Yeah artisan - like that. "It's the voices that make me do it"
Looking into to Volumio / Spotify some more.. I can play Spotify as normal using my android app. Connects and plays no problem.
I can't see Spotify at all in Volumio (accessed by 192.0.1... )?
This would have from the last time I updated Volumio I'm guessing! Only a couple of days ago. As I normally use the Spotify app I didn't notice.
Could this also be causing my Spotify 44.1K light to go AWOL?
How to get Spotify back in Volumio?

Do you need to specify the port number at the end of the IP address, ie 192.0.1.XXX:8000 ?

Yes, I do that, just didn't write it all here.. and I have full access to all Volumio functions, can play my NAS Flacs and see the radio stations. It's just Spotify that's gone, despite my having the Spotify plugin active and signed in..

Have you got both Spotify and Spotify Connect plug-ins installed and configured?

Have you got both Spotify and Spotify Connect plug-ins installed and configured? Yes I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify plugin, still the same.

A few more tests reveal that the 44.1K Led will not light up whether it be Spotify via connect / app or Flac files or Radio.
All the other rate lights work fine..
Could this be down to the latest Volumio (2.565) as well as Spotify within Volumio going missing?

Strange. Without lifting the lid I can't be sure, but I thought my 44.1 LED worked when it should.
I'm not sure what could be the cause as the Kali would be oblivious to whether Volumio or something else was running in the Pi.

Yeah, I've never really looked at the lights before, so it is possible my 44.1K light never worked. Also the lights go colour wise. 44.1K ? 48K Green 88.2K Blue 96K Green 176.4K ? (I don't have any Flacs at this rate) 192K Green Higher than 192K files of which I have a few just light up the 192 LED. WaveIO used to give a combination of 176+192 for them. That was elegant I thought. So if I can't get the 44.1K light to work at all, I'll just use the 44.1K Family LED that is blue and always comes on when they are played. I've been reading up a bit, but still none the wiser as to why Spotify within Volumio disappeared after the latest update. Other problems are that none of my Windows PCs can see the routers NAS drive anymore. My phone can see the files no problem (not useful), Windows can see the files through Volumio, but they can't be deleted or copied there. All the checks done previously show everything to be in order - SMB 1.0 and others in this useful vid yielded nothing. link

The LEDs are colour coded according to the crystal selected (divisible by 44.1 or 48).
The Spotify and NAS problems may be linked, in which case suspect the router. Worth a restart? Also check your login in the Spotify plug-in. I used to use my username but something happened a while back and I used my e-mail address instead which worked.

Yes, they alternate blue / green I supposed but as I have 2 unknowns I surmise. I did turn off and on the router last night to remove the USB stick (being on the safe side). I copied a few of different sample rate Flacs over. After a required RPi restart all was the same.. I had looked at the Spotify plugin username (my email address) and the password dots (the correct number), but didn't reenter at that time.. I just redid them and te voilà, Spotify is back.. Thanks Martin Just the LEDs problem now.

Just squint strangely when playing red book, you'll never notice that LED is not lit!

Yeah, no.. I'll route the 44.1K led When you get a chance, take a look at yours. I've seen pics of Kali with it lit, so something is amiss, but it sounds perfect.. Must look back at my Kali pics and see what lights are on.. And here's my answer.. Hmm...?

I've asked Allo what might be going on.

Is it possible the LED has just failed?

Is it possible the LED has just failed? Yes I suppose it is. Hopefully Allo can tell me what value it is and with luck and with a tail wind and magnifying glass I might be able to graft a new one on.

If you ask them nicely they might even send you the correct one.

If you ask them nicely they might even send you the correct one. Yes but not sure about surface mounts. It's only 2 solder spots though.
