There has been a bit of discussion about Larkin Poe on the forum before (back in 2020), but one of their albums has never appeared as a choice. Larkin Poe, emerged from a Blue Grass band formed by the four sisters (The Lovell Sisters) and these were popular on the Blue Grass and Country Circuits in the US. The two older sisters left to go to college leaving the two younger siblings. They continued, but with a slightly different style, original songs and a new name: Larkin Poe (the maiden name of their maternal grandmother. This album is part of the seasons ‘quartet’ and I originally came across is as part of the ‘Seasons’ box-set on CD having heard the sisters in a “Songs from the Shed” session on YouTube. They are still going, but have become progressively more ‘rocky’ over the years. open.qobuz.com/album/qat465mszu2qa

If you like the Civil Wars, you can't not like Larkin Poe. There's nothing not to like here. 4/5 = 2 but doesn't tally with your description. I've a feeling you've done this before, petea !

A steady 3 for me. I can enjoy it but didn't score higher as it is not as I just wouldn't listen to it

I tried
Music good in places. Not that offended by the vocals but not keen
2/5 from the Old Bloke Jury

I'm going to say it's " Like a Breath of Spring Air (more seasons please)." and if I want more seasons I onmly have to look through my NAS. It's almost-but-not-quite Bluegrass in places and whatever style the girls are playing they play it faultlessly. I was already a fan in case you hadn't guessed. It's actually got me thinking about my own next choice, and although not an immediate leap I wonder if I should drop The Handsome Family on an unsuspecting TAS?
