I think this was in the £1 pile in the Market Vaults Scarborough. If you ever find this album buy it.

This is a jem and you’ll find nothing that comes close if you search the entirety of Apple Music. I’m getting sick of streamed music, its all so dull compared to these gems.
I had the pleasure of spending a day with Peter Qvortrup, who apart from anything else knows his vinyl. As we sat in his unused shop listening to his vinyl together, I let him pick ..
His marvelous recordings were so much better than any of the dull music Ive heard so often.
I asked Peter “Do you think its the recording equipment in the studios those days?”
Peter “Its the performers!”
This album is an example of that statement. But you wont find it on itunes.

This is a clearer picture of the back. Seems ipad is subordinate to iphone as a camera. Go figure? The world is upside down.

Some absolutely brilliant tracks on that album, Paul. I've played a few of them myself, either with a band, or solo at folk clubs. St James Infirmary Blues is a particular favourite of mine.
Here y'go; sorry there's not a direct link to play it here.

I used to play this too, but I leaned it from the Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee version.

When I was under age living in Alresford with my single mum and sister about 1970 I think with my Aunt kath who then lived in Alresford, we used to go to a pub in Winchester where a small Trad Jazz. Local band used to play like this.
Then when I read Economics at Hull and was then 1975 of age we went to Jazz night once a week at Haworth Arms, and of course Nelly’s upper room (Nelly was the last of three sisters landlords of The White Horse Beverly) Now a Sam Smith’s Pub.
The Trad Jazz generation are falling or have fallen off their purches. Its a bit Indie these days.

When the pubs had bands that played Trad Jazz. Me in those days. That sweet innocent girl from Slingsby N Yorks became my wife and still is 46 years on. If I could go back to that young man I would say. “ Dont change a thing”! I prefer the me of those days.

Heavy weights not allowed and grapling is heavy aswell. So no martial arts Gyms no fitness gyms. Shame because my Son Sam runs the BJJ gym in Scarborough. But he understands. Basucally I must never get a spike in blood pressure . I have to do what Ive never done before, become sedentary.
But I am doing light free weights at home. Its heavy weights that are banned. I am still not permitted to drive, so I walk a lot more, there is no harm in that. I always used to walk to the gym anyway, aswell as walked to the BJJ gym and back. I never did understand the idiots who drive to the gym, park jealsously as close as they can get. Change into fitness show off clothes and trudge meaninglessly on a conveyour belt reading their phone. Have a shower and drive home! Wierdos!
