Seen Nick a few times If you ever get the chance check out Warren Ellis band the Dirty Three; they can be quite special live

I haven't seen Nick before John, so looking forward to this. I think you may have mentioned The Dirty Three before, but I forgot to check them out - I'll get on it

I've never warmed to his recordings. Perhaps I haven't listened to the right one yet?

I've never warmed to his recordings. Perhaps I haven't listened to the right one yet? Into My Arms from The Boatman's Call is one of my all-time favourites songs Martin, superb song and superb album. Murder Ballads probably comes next and I really like his Grinderman albums, but for sure Nick is an acquired taste. Do you like Tom Waits? I spied you playing Martin Stephenson the other day too

Agree with Tim view point. The Boatman's Call is very song originated, whilst murder ballads is good story telling. Both written quite close to each other its kind of like Nick is exploring the dark side of humanity, whilst the other is exploring love

Well that didn't go well - I was logged into the website before 0900. When they went on sale it was telling me that there were no seats left in the Stalls, only restricted view circle and gallery. Tried to refresh and it gave the same message, which is odd so quickly for just 1 seat. Started again and now I am number 2,505 in line, so I have given up and will go back later. Seems Nick has a lot of fans!

I really dislike the way that online sales of high demand tickets works and suspect nefarious pre-allocation, monopolies and all sorts of activity going on in the background, not to mention effing booking fees and shipping fees, sometime for a print-at-home ticket! Trying to get Proms tickets and my previous experience with KB tickets now fills me with dread.
Going to a gig shouldn't be like this.

Going to a gig shouldn't be like this. No it shouldn't, how can I not get 1 seat the moment they go on sale to Joe public! Still waiting, pass the popcorn somebody . .

Bugger! That interface is the same as the Proms one. It immediately made me think bad thoughts...

If I had any idea it was going to be that bad, I would have accepted a single Gallery ticket - too late now though. I'm sure I will get a return nearer the date though, I have yet to fail to get into the Royal Albert Hall for a gig I wanted to see. Not always in the area I choose, but better than staying at home I reckon? Got a Lulu ticket now as well, that should be fun

+1 for Into my Arms. Great track.
See a few lads crowd sourced money to organise their own Foo Fighters gig due to being sick and tired of online ticket sales!!
