With regard to classical music, I've long said that it requires better sound quality for full appreciation. It also, in my opinion, makes tougher demands on system performance.
However, all that is dwarfed by your own sense of wellbeing.

This article dosent surprise my at all. Life balance is important, and l find it healthy that due to other things in my life,l don't get to listen as often as l like,so l really enjoy the chance.
Keeping busy is the key and exercise... But let's be honest... lt's exactly what any GP would tell you.

It's all about balance really. Don't get fixated with any one interest/hobby/ etc etc. So far as a music replay system is concerned (note: I avoided the term hifi) what I like and feel as a well balanced sound may sound awful to others and similarly others systems awful to me.
In relation to the "bad back" scenario, I have recently had a full L knee replacement which is healing fine and I am told I am doing well. I have not been able to get out on the road and cycle my usual routes which benefits my whole body. I have had a nagging shoulder problem for years that if I keep active stops the constant nagging pain. As I have been fairly sedentary in the last few weeks the shoulder has not stopped aching (I try to take as few PKs as possible) but it has impacted on my listening experience as the pain is getting in the way of the music so listening sessions have been cur short.
I used to go to a lot shows in the 80s/90s (Heathrow etc) but always came home amd said to myself that my system sounds as good to me if not better than some of the mega price stuff at the show.

Don't get fixated with any one interest/hobby/ etc etc. Good observation and I find myself switching between pursuits, which keeps things interesting. It also means never getting bored, which I see as one method of staving off dementia. Keep that brain active.

Yoga first thing in the morning. Music of course. Breakfast, dog walk, music. Don't take the system on the bike rides

We should not forget the times when music is needed to uplift you. So it can therefore be part of the cure.

Oh, it certainly has been.
There is no doubt, however, that there have been times when I couldn't listen to music due to being very poorly.
