Hans Zimmer's output alone has been prodigious. Vangelis' score for Blade Runner is especially memorable. Often a good score is the making of a film.

Music can create atmosphere and mood it helps to tell the story and often memorable in its own right

Indeed, I have a collection of Morricone's film scores. Could you imagine that scene at the end of The Good The Bad and The Ugly with any other music?
