I had to create this thread just now, showing that there hadn't been much to enjoy in F1 until very recently, with the strong resurgence of both McLaren and Mercedes teams. At last Red Bull have some serious competition.
On a personal note, fantastic to see Lewis Hamilton win at his home race Silverstone today, his first in three years. The crowd loved it and he was emotional - understandable as at his age he may have wondered if he would ever see the chequered flag first ever again. I wonder if he is having second thoughts now about signing to Ferrari next year?

Last few races have actually been very good, but silverstone was a doozy, 4 different race leaders, max for the first time in a long time was not one of them, conditions were formidable for all the drivers, absolute class from them all. Overtakes, undercuts, strategy calls, tyre whispering, and a heck of a finish, though i did find it a little strange that lando faded so badly on the softs at the end. Perhaps it just shows how good hamilton was in that final stint nursing the soft that the pace he held on them was out of landos reach. Max 1.4s behind hamilton at the flag but lando nearly 8. 5 cars in the picture at the beginning of the race and still 3 in the picture at the end. Sainz pulled a good result out of that ferrari, hulkenberg was brilliant in the haas, and albons lovely move to pinch 9th off tsunoda was a cracker. Hungary has quite a bit to live up to, a completely different circuit, the slow speed characteristics will be the important ones next time. Felt a bit sorry for russell even though he did look all at sea after he got done by hamilton then norris in the span of a few corners, couldnt seem to get the rhythm back before the motor cried enough. Great race And lewis? Still got it old man!

Hulkenberg had a brilliant drive to finish that Haas in 6th. They'll be sorry he's leaving them.
Good race, too, for Sainz. Goodness knows what's wrong with Leclerc recently.

What a cracker the Hungarian F1 turned out to be, with Red Bull almost imploding, Verstappen getting increasingly stroppy throughout the race (culminating in dive-bombing Hamilton and getting away without damaging either car), the two Maclarens feuding over team radio about who should win, Perez looking like he's waiting to get sacked, and lots of excitement throughout.

I saw the clip, and my immediate reaction was that Verstappen took Hamilton's line, locked up, and was therefore technically not in control of the vehicle, which actually sounds better than " out of control".

This one will rage on and on. A great race with the Mercedes cars (just) holding off the McLarens and Red Bulls at the best race track on the calendar: Spa. It looked like a Mercedes 1-2 with Russell winning in a close battle with Hamilton.
But wait! Russell's car was then disqualified by the Stewards. It was found to be 1.5kg underweight, a big shortfall in terms of race distance advantage. A disaster for Mercedes and a shocking miscalculation by their engineers. So Hamilton has been promoted to the winner with Piastri 2nd and Leclerc 3rd. The nearest Red Bull was Verstappen in 4th.
The good news out of all this is just how close the four top teams now are.

Yes, it was. The rules are very clear and no team can circumvent them.
