Well my first post on this section...
l've been a big fan of It Bites since 1988, at the time, l remember being played this album,by my band members, they had seen them support Go West and left and big impression on them. lt was a breath of fresh air to my ears, but lt Bites really had a hard time of it,having many elements to there sound, the press struggled with them, and there label Virgin Records had the same issues. Ironically it seems that they where loved by musicians and Prog Rock Fans, Virgin Records wanted another "Calling All The Heroes" which was there smash hit,but didn't really represent the band.
Once around the world was produced by Steve Hillage, ultimately It Bites came to a end after another album, with Vocalist and Guitarist Francis Dunnery left to go solo, it was a bitter sweet moment,as the band where posed to record and release there 4th album, and the press were finally understanding It Bites.... Francis Dunnery is still very active, and has released many fine albums, and It Bites did resurface, bringing two studio releases, with John Mitchell taking on Francis Dunnery role.
Once around the world is a epic journey of a song, it nearly 15 minutes long, so have a proper listen when you have the time to give it your proper attention.

TBH Mike l see this section as a opportunity to share a track that you enjoy, and if someone enjoys it great.
What someone thinks of it, kind of mute point l guess, and l guess defeats the concept of it, as if you end up with loads of negative comments, the poster can take it personally, and not bother again.
I can think if loads of tracks l can add, with many artists not mentioned on TAS, so love or hate the tracks, l guess it's nice to have someone be the DJ

Don't worry, Damien, we're all different and many people dislike some of my choices, too.
It's always worth sharing regardless, as someone may bite and discover something new.

We all gotta keep throwing them out there So much of what I regard as stellar / sublime is not rated by the assembled. Vice versa too. No guarantees when I get to It Bites

Sounds ok to me. I'll try again but I do marvel at how we are all built of the same parts yet our perceptions of music are all so different.

Love It Bites I saw them quite a few times l was lucky to catch them twice during the Dunnery era Newport and Bristol. I was totally gutted when it all ended, they had been playing new songs live, even on Radio one sessions, telling the crowd there heading into the studio etc. Then 3 weeks later... They where no more.. I've see the currently inactive John Mitchell version 4 times, and Dunnery solo,,, l've lost count. Well hopefully someone enjoyed the track. l plan to do one ,once a week.
