I have used Qobuz in the past and found that I was not really using it and hard to search and play what I wanted . I have also tried Spotify but just could not get on with the loss of quality . Tidal have very recently just dropped their higher tier and made the standard HiFi level at £10.99 include any HiRes as well as the CD level files . I have had a three month trial which ran through the switch over and while I do admit I do not use it that much I have had days when I picked one of Radio stations they offer and the quality of play back is very good . I do find that they are a little too strict in their choices so if the first artist is John Martyn then you get a few of his songs but then they only sort of offer artists they think are similar . Fair enough but I would like to see them throw in a few curve balls based on the artists I have noted as favourites and the odd soul track or African or South American or Electronica . This may well be my fault as there could be controls which I can set to do this but I have not found them . Considering the cost will leave it and pay for a few months at least until after the Maverick Show as it will enable me to find most requests for music .
They have improved quite a lot of late and you are right, Qobuz do lag behind regarding search, certainly for me anyway. They often have albums you can't find easily using normal search terms like artist name or album name!
I'm back with Tidal at the moment and it's doing okay, apart from the very annoying lack of scrobbling from a mobile device - the desktop app does and the web browser interface, but not from a mobile. No idea why they decided to do that as both Spotify and Qobuz scrobble from everything. One price of £10.99 for everything is good value IMO.
