This is the first single from David Gilmour's 'Luck and Strange', which will be released on 6th September 2024. It's quite "Momentary Lapse of Reason" era Pink Floyd-ish, I think, which bodes well for the album.

Great to see he still wants to make music
I read there's a big tour planned too, pretty impressive at 78.

I hope it's better than Rattle That Lock, which I thought was very average (we went to that concert).
I would love him to return to the sound of Momentary. It's on Qobuz already, I'll listen tonight.

He's changed his stylised name. It's the same font as the album title on the cover. Incidentally, I read a short interview with him about the album a couple of weeks ago in which he said he's got a totally new producer. Found it. Worth a read.If you want something a bit different, search YouTube for "Barn Jam" for some chilled music, and some nice memories of Rick.

I cancelled my pre order after hearing this track from it. Boring in the extreme and those lyrics 😂
There's no doubt Pink Floyd were great as a band but their solo stuff is nothing great, mind you I prefer Waters solo stuff rather than Gilmours.

Listening in 24/96 it's very nicely 'orchestrated' and recorded. I wouldn't say it's great but it's a lot better than that Rattle album.

What struck me was in that short article it lists Gilmour's collaborators and the last entry is " ...with string and choral arrangements by Will Gardner," so hopefully there might be some "big" tunes, if you get what I mean. Will's site is worth a look too... www.will-gardner.com/remains
